Cooking with beer... pork spare ribs browned and then braised in beer 4 hours in the crockpot... then roasted in the oven with BBQ sauce. Not too shabby.

Very impressed with this Imperial Red Ale at 10.2% AV and aged in bourbon barrels... very well balancd for a strong barely wine style ale.

I brewed my Winter Solstice Chocolate-Cherry Stout on Sunday 11/7 and I will add a 3 lb can of Tart Cherry puree when the fermentation slows down... it shold be ready for my Solstice celebration in December.

It is October so I just had to try a new Octoberfest beer from Sierra Nevada Brewing. It was delicious and very well balanced. I have always been impressed with Sierra Nevada beers.

Sad to know... I am glad I was able to see John Mayall in Seattle about 20 years with his long time friend and former band-mate Peter Green... hanging on my wall.

Made my roasted tomato sauce today. The best sauce ever ...in my opinion. Perfect - as is - over pasta with just fresh grated parmesan - Yum!
