I had to toast the longest day at Midnight on Friday June 21 and what else would I drink on such an occasion!

Sous Vide London Broil - slow cooked 6 hrs at 130 F for medium rare then seared. Tonight on my outdoor grill at 11 pm for my midnight sun Summer Solstice celebration supper! Along with some grilled zucchini on the side.

I don't own a crock pot - but I do have my 3 favorite slow cookers. Great on the stove and in the oven for all day cooking... here are my home baked beans from scratch starting with dry beans.

The Last Frontier, my local Wasilla brewpub, now has bottled their strong and malty Scottish Ale. It pairs well with their signature beer battered Alaska Halibut!

This is true ...I saw it online.

I know it's a little overkill, but nothing is quite like fall-off-the-bone beef short ribs. Pan seared then braised in the oven - covered in onions and a dark Stout beer for 2 hours at 320 F and finally roasted at 425 F brushed with a nice BBQ sauce ...

I shot this several years ago in my yard. With a Fuji point snd shoot with zoom. A comon Akaska purple iris - Iris setosa.

A unique Alaskan Spruce IPA - made with fresh Spruce tips. Very smooth and refreshing. The Spruce essence is subtle and not overwhelming. It is one of my favorites...
