She bought new beds, supplies, toys etc and delivered them (with her family) to the animals in hopes that it will get the adopted faster. An unfortunate obstacle is the consumers. Many consumers do not have a problem with the shortened life span of appliances because they want change. They want a reason to update their kitchen or washer/dryer. Kitchen updates are happening around the 10 year mark if that long - new home purchases cause people to update sooner.
