Have a look at Leonard Susskind's excellent series of lectures from Stanford. All free on YouTube. Only take you a few dozen hours assuming you start from 101. Don't try to keep up with him on the chocolate biscuits.

A human is a bit smarter than a chimp and the chimp from a monkey and the monkey from a dog and on and on till we get to very primitive creatures that have very small brains. Does an insect's mind exist in a different dimension. At what point in the evolutionary tree does it? Come up with a way to find that link and work up. Me I think it would be a huge waste of time and resource but not much more that this "theory" because this isn't a scientific theory but simply a crazy idea , and should be given about as much credence.

If our brain (or mind) is interacting with other parts of the cosmos why are we studying Mars and other places in space with robots and cameras? We could just lay down and go there remotely in our minds and learn everything.

What constitutes evidence? Something a whole lot better than this.

I can agree that our minds are different in kind from the neural firings, the nervous system and all the physical aspects of our organism.

Maybe that difference is explainable, but I'm not sure it is explainable as a sort of quantum effect. That would have to be demonstrated.

Reads to me a bit like the claims originally made for radium as the new wonder health drug,
or the effects of the newly created ultra-powerful magnets being able to purify your blood,
or for crystals harmonising with your body's natural rhythm when it was discovered that crystals have a natural resonance.
Now it's quantum entanglement, is it?

Indeed. I saw it the other week. It was crass, stupid, puerile, smart, clever, and laugh-out-loud funny.

So when I can't remember something I know I know....it is just a bad connection?

A little pseudo stretching there. These are thought experiments nearly impossible to prove until you can measure stuff or make experiments and actually hypothesize. Yes, It is thought that brain computations and, maybe consciousness, create and exist as a quantum field but not in another dimension. Research has determined that photosynthesis is a quantum process. More biomolecular reactions like DNA synthesis appear to have quantum signatures so it is logical to think that brain computation could use a similar process considering the potential power of quantum computers vs the brain. All that has nothing to do with other dimensions or black hole... that's the woo that has not been investigated (and probably cannot be proven).

This makes my brain hurt... in another dimension.
