I am taking a hike along Elephant Butte Lake then on to Las Cruces Organ Mountains

I'm gonna work through xmas....on a tear on my new project....if I had little ones, I would celebrate, though.

6

Working... rather pleased it is Xmas double time for nurses woo hoo

I'm not celebrating it. I'm gonna sleep all day.

Not celebrating, but will have visitors for the next week, we don't do xmas.

I'm not celebrating the Christian meaning. I'm just with family.

Other than a minor gift exchange with my father and a little family visit, no real celebration.

I'll be driving 900 miles from Florida to Kentucky, death metal spurring me on, and to me, that's a fine way to spend the holiday.

Well, what can I say, TonesX, except that I'm insane? I did make it, however, as I am now typing this from my home in Kentucky. LOL

I'm just finishing a binge-watch of Shetland on Netflix. Next up is a binge watch of American Gods on DVD. I'll make some comfort food...probably involving cheese. I'm taking a few days to just veg, then I'll be productive. I'll clean my house. I have lots to do to prepare to go back to work after the holiday break (I work in a a school), but I'll put that off until Monday. I'll do dinner with my cousin and his family tonight, an a get-together for presents tomorrow at my parents' house with my sister and her family. So, two small gatherings, and a lot of me-time.

American Gods is great! I haven't heard of Shetland. Gotta look that one up now.

@Duke Shetland is good. It's pretty slow, but I like it. A similar one that I liked a little better was Loch Ness. I think it's just a one season mini-series, but I wish it would be longer.

Well hell... I tell my wife that I really don't care to watch those Hallmark Christmas shows on tv. But i give in to her... we don't put up a tree... i still give my children something because they want stop giving us something... you know, I don't believe, but they Do, so it's all about them...not me.

Yes, I'm not. Will be gutting a bathroom in the early part of the day. Then, my football team (Steelers) are playing in the late afternoon, and the Dr. Who special (which generally ends up being aliens as Santa) at night.

Last year, I watched movies...Santa's Slay, Silent Night Deadly Night, Santa Claws. You know...the classics!

Most of the family is still religious, so I'm exchanging gifts and pleasantries and all the things that happy families do when reunited regardless of the cause. I still look at it as a "holiday" in the colloquial sense. I just deal quietly with the religious symbolism and such for the sake of the family.

Oh hell no! It's just a few days off work for me and getting things done around the house I've needed to do for a long time. I do however, make myself that good ol "turkey in a tin". Gotta love it.. 🙂 sweet potato pie and other stuff and well, just because I can. I do watch my favorite xmas classic movies.. Krampus, Black xmas and Bad Santa, the unrated version. 😉 with a glass of wine.

I'm actually disappointed in myself, here it is xmas eve, and I'm only drinking coffee. Well its only 8 am,, I never decorate, i do have cute xmas stockings for the cats and one for myself, that someone gave me, a gift from Disneyland, so I only put it out at xmas obviously. I already opened a gift, not knowing it was meant for Christmas, can't even get that right! I'm on call for my funeral home, so is that the same as working not sure. Happy Dec 24 everyone!

no, not for many years. Did when my kids were small

Have a tree with white lights and assorted stuffed animals and new age ornaments. Bought a few utilitary presents for housemates-gloves for the snow shoveling.

Half and half here, really. I haven't put a tree or decorations up. I've given money to charity instead of spending it on cards. But I'm going to cook a decent dinner for myself (I'll be on my own, through choice) and end up eating turkey sandwiches for the next week. I have bought presents for the kids and a few close friends. Oh, and there's an inflatable snowman in the back garden.

I have a tree with lights, but no decorations this year. To much of a pain in the ass to drag down from the attic and put back up. No one comes over anyway, so the tree is just lit up in the front window so the house looks festive from the outside. My mom was making turkey pot pies yesterday when I popped over (she makes a bunch and freezes them), and I think I may take a few tomorrow when I go over.

I am pleased to say that I am not celebrating xmas and I am spending it alone, how wonderful it is to have some time to oneself...🙂

Depends what you mean by celebrating. We use Christmas as a time of year to meet up with friends and family as it is one of the only times in the year when we have free time together. No religious element to it.

1

My wife and I do not celebrate xmas...not because we are both atheists, but because at our age it is just too much trouble.

Santa brought me socks.

no chance

Hi Hannahg,I do celebrate Xmas but not in the religious context I have 3 adult children and two grandchildren so I love the excuse of Xmas to give them presents and witness their enjoyment. Also when I was working I enjoyed the days off work, but since I retired nearly 11 years ago every day is a holiday. Also there is a possibility that the christian religion and the biblical Jesus was created by mistranslations and other means from the life of Julius Caesar and the events surrounding his life.if you can get hold of a book by Francesco Carotta called Jesus was Caesar it is well worth reading . If anyone wants to know how to get one Ihave the name and address of the publisher in Holland.

NOT me, hoping it well be a good Beach Day tomorrow (24th here)........

I made a few gifts for friends in my woodshop, because I like my friends and this is a good excuse to give them things and do some woodwork.

Other than that I am not doing anything.
