Kids at it again they are making a trap for what they are going to catch is a mystery. They have tied a string around a bucket and have hauled it up over the beam that supports the porch. It is very amusing to see those little brains working.
Don't teach them to snare around the house. Geeze...!
My son used to make ‘squirrel traps’, when he was four or so. The trap consisted of three sticks, set up tee-pee style, with an acorn at the center of each one. Dozens of them all over our yard. I asked how was it going to work? He said, when the squirrel grabs the acorn, the sticks will fall on him and trap him.
I bet squirrels were telling their friends from miles away.
When I was young I made a trap from a wooden box, with a string to trip it. I waited for a ground squirrel to enter, and caught it. It had big front teeth, so I got a leather welding glove, and grabbed it. It grabbed my finger and bit hard; it hurt but didn't go through the glove. I let it go. That was the end of my big game hunting.
My friends and I used to do that all the time when we were kids. We never caught shit. I think the local wildlife is safe.
Well...how would ‘shit’ get that high up to start with, ?
They already caught dad going out of the door string got tangled around my shoe. lol
That is a little scary! That bucket could catch anything and hurt it...lol
