Too much, just right or not enough?

I've decided to try the whole online dating thing again and put this disclaimer on my profile (not here, this isn't a date site for me).

"Disclaimer: If "GOD" is anywhere on your profile or is something you value, please understand we will NOT be compatible. Thank you for being respectful and moving on."

I would want to meet you!

It's blunt, however it might save you a lot of time weeding out people later. I say might because I am reminded of an earlier comment by some members who were stalked by people who were trying to convert them. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

@Crimson67 I had a man comment, your fucked in the head.

I messaged him back and told him that if he wanted to insult me, he should use proper grammar.

Way to put it out there. Maybe should have used all caps though, the “chosen” seem to like that! ?

I would remove the all-caps, because all-caps has become code for yelling.

It's ironic that you are asking people to be respectful, when it appears you are shouting at them.

Just my 2 cents but I try not to let the haters get into my profile...what if the religious person (and it's rare I agree) doesnt need you to verify their beleifs and is a live and let live person? Or maybe less direct and add a few other things that you don't want like "DISCLAIMER" Moustaches, beggers, god fearing, gun toters and unemployed need not apply" Otherwise yours is fine 🙂 Good luck!

I feel the same way about pets on profiles. I consider pets to be one's "god" and just would not waste my time pursuing it as one would always be second place to their "god". Just my opinion.

@Byrdsfan My issue is strictly, that anyone (male or female) who displays a photo of their pet, indicates to me that in ANY conflict between me and the pet, I would come out on the losing end, and most likely have to leave, so why bother.

Although I don’t have them in any of my pics one here (I do have my dog), I can say that my daughters and my two small grandchildren would always come before anyone else. So really, I guess if you want to be the absolute number one in someone’s life you have to choose someone without any offspring.

I do wonder what sort of conflict is meant here. If I met someone who then said ‘The dog goes or I go’ then they would be the one to go for sure; I would not want to know such a selfish person. But I doubt many people would say ‘I can’t see you tonight because I’m washing my dog’ so not sure what conflict there would be other than the most basic ‘I don’t like pets’ versus ‘I like them’.

But the truth is that an animal lover and someone who doesn’t like pets simply aren’t compatible.

There can't be too many geographically desirable non-believers in Kentucky.

I have a hard time imagining how I could live with a Christian, but the number of female non-believers in the Los Angeles basin is very small, and most (all) of them have profound problems (It's L.A and misandry is standard).

Women are usually only on a dating site to assuage their guilt over being single; they very rarely respond to solicitations except to get out for a free meal.

You like being alone, and you could change that any time you like. You should get used to being single. Relationships are really just too much work. Love isn't worth it (sarcasm).

A whole lotta generalizing going on right there, sir.

Practically all of that is not true in my humble opnion.

""not here, this isn't a date site for me""

So, you are asking advice from a group of your like-minded about how to present yourself to those not of your ilk, while dissing the use of the "dating" function of the website?

Yeah, The disclaimer is always a good idea.

@Crimson67 Not a trigger. A response. YOU don't think of this site for dating.

ME: That's like silly. Not understanding my comments about your comments.
