Please help settle this very important issue before it tears my family apart ??
I grew up eating Miracle Whip. In fact my mother used to send my brother to school with 'mayonnaise sandwiches' -- really Miracle Whip on white bread. Nowadays Social Services would be called immediately, but I understand this was a 'thing' during the Depression when she was growing up. I was converted to mayonnaise (the real thing) as an adult, but there are still a few recipes where I need to use Miracle Whip
I grew up with Miracle Whip, margarine, velveta cheese, and other disgusting things. It was wonderful to get out and experience real food.
@JustLynnie well for me, never ever Miracle Whip or Margarine. Or rectangular breaded things called fish.?
I was a teen when I moved in with my aunt who used only real butter. For a very long time, it tasted so weird to me. Once I got used to, and fell in love with, butter, I never went back (save for a recipe here and there that strongly recommends margarine over butter, but that is very rare).
