Only Xmas and inside 🙂

I live in an apartment so inside only. Well the outside of me door too. I'm already Jonesing to put up my Christmas tree!!!!! Trying to make myself wait until the first weekend in November

I usually decorate for Halloween so that makes it easier to wait until November!

I have always celebrated year end holidays for the reason of having extended time off so that we can actually gather with friends and family. It's not a commercial gorge-fest or religious for me, just a time for rest, gathering, and fun.

It's definitely not religious for us. I love any excuse for more time with family and friends.

never having been christian, i do not decorate my home for any christian holidays. one year when my folks were out of town, when my sister and i were young, we decided to see what it was like to have a christmas tree. it shed needles and the cats ate them. that was enough of an education for me.

There's nothing christian about our decorations or celebrations. I see it as harmless fun.

@JenBeberstein if it does not symbolize something unpleasant for you, enjoy the fun. it does, to me.

Meh....sure, why not. Jump on the wagon !! Seriously, it doesn't bother me a single bit.

Love the holiday season, my work goes all out and it's awesome but I never decorate at my home. It's about spending time with the family if I'm not working the entire holiday week

I go the whole pagan route. Lots of gold & silver, evergreens & white lights. Lots of sun symbols including the perfect navel orange nestled in the toe of each stocking.

Sounds beautiful!

You know!

I do know!

I have a little kid. We totally ham up the secular Christmas (santa, reindeer, lights etc...) inside and out.

Yeah, I never decorated before I had kids. I thought they would eventually outgrow holiday decorating but that doesn't seem to be happening.

SAME!!!! I'm all about the commercialism

I used to set up lights in my room when I was younger, but I don't do anything like that anymore. I haven't put up a tree in years. It's too much of a hassle.

I agree about the tree being a hassle (which is why I don't do it) but I do enjoy having lights up for any reason.

@JenBeberstein It was fun putting the lights up. I could probably do that in my living room. I'd also like to put up a miniature train that runs around the living room too. That one might prove to be more difficult.

@Captain747ex I've always wanted a train set. I think it would be worth the work and expense.

@JenBeberstein I think it would be too. It would awesome.

I don’t do any decorations for holidays. Waste of time as I am a singleton. I just enjoy the time off work. For that alone I would permit a few Saints Days.

Is it paid time off for holidays?

@JenBeberstein in UK yes, in addition to the 20 days minimum statutory requirement, and different to sickness leave. Also up to a year of paid maternity leave, that guarantees you can return to the job you originally had.

USA I use something called benefit time that covers everything from sickness to vacation. You build it up over time. If you are sick and use the benefit time, you lose your holiday pay. Nice...

@Livia I bet workers in UK are much healthier in their work/life balance.

@JenBeberstein Yes, but it’s industry dependent- in the consulting firms and investment banks there have been young men and women who have died from exhaustion.

Not extensively and not at all last year, but I usually put up a Christmas tree.

I didn't put up a tree for several years but having no tree bothers my daughter so she does the tree every year now.

@JenBeberstein yeah it’s not a religious thing, just a festive thing. But I don’t have that much space now that I have a piano in my townhouse so once my son moves out, I’ll probably just decorate with my folks and skip it at my house.

I have always loved decorating for xmas and my kids have taken up the tradition. My youngest son strings the lights outside, my daughter buys and decorates a live tree and puts up stockings. There is nothing religious about our celebration, just tacky blinking lights and ornaments.

The tackier the better in my opinion!

@Marcie1974 agreed!
