Depends on the individual. Probably has more so to do with their insecurities.

I honestly think much of it has to do with desperation. The GOP cannot play the long game when they are losing hold of the majority so quickly. Republicans have lost 6 of the last 7 presidential elections popular vote. Around 80% of newly minted voters are progressive while most of those dying off are conservative. They are trying to impact as much as they can while they can, cause the clock is ticking. Can I get an amen?!

Because they are very insecure group of people who are afraid of diversity and change. They tend to be myopic and shallow minded, relying on anecdotes instead of facts

Legislation proves otherwise. My friends 17 year old daughter had a birth control implant without her father's consent. The law prevents him freedom intervening. There are "hate crimes" esentially banning oppinion. The list of left wing supported legislation is large and growing. So, who is forcing who?

It's the long con, with several payoffs.

  1. Money. The more people believe, the more tithes they collect.

  2. Men's right over women.

  3. Look closely on the far right preachers and you'll find men with a skewed view of women. They think of them as property or pets and justifies it by asking "what man doesn't want that"- 'that' being a woman locked in the house and brainwashed to serve you regardless of what kind of person you are. Disgusting, but effective because weak men will flock to your cause and defend it. Which connects to

  4. Religious eugenics.
Don't believe for a second that it's a coincidence far right Christians and Muslim extremists rob women of their rights and has commandments to pump out as many new babies as possible.
They are out-breeding their rivals, promoting traits for obedience and superstition.
The more children born into indoctrination, the more followers they have. The more followers, the more money they get. The more money, the more power they wield. The more power they wield the more heinous crimes they can get away with.

Any woman choosing a partner of her own choice and having the number of children she chooses, and the men supporting that, are roadblocks for the people building their sick master-slave world. We are living proof against all the lies they use to keep the slaves in line. That's why there can be no tolerance for people outside of their agenda.

I think that many of them feel like they need validation for their belief. I find it interesting.

We shouldn't call them the religious right because they don't act like Christians should. My parents are and were Christians (Dad past in January). But they lived through Jim crow and segregation and they never taught Us to hate like the so called Christian right.

Religion has and always be first and foremost about control. Weak minds and Herd mentality are fundamental to any Faith Based Belief. Therefore anyone who does not comply is seen as a threat to the Belief System and must be converted or alienated.

Pushers are pushers. Doesn't matter whether it is drugs, religion, politics, economics, et al. The far-right and the far-left have little concept of critical thinking. They can only see one point of view.

there are situations where the only wrong side its the neutral side man. yes.. let the Nazis rule..
is that better?

And sometimes there is a right and a wrong.

Because, due to their attention to the detailed facts, they know better than we do.

Facts? Detailed?

Power and greed. That’s all the religious right understand.
Their anti abortion stance is so they can control women.
They also want LGBTs controlled and then they only ones left to come under their control would be men and by controlling women they have some control over men. By making sex “dirty” they will have more control.
A bishop in the Philippines addressed the Philippine Congress and stated that they needed birth control, abortion and divorce outlawed because of it wasn’t people would have sex all the time. People having sex all the time meant the church and government wouldn’t have as much control over the people. This was published in The Palawan Times, in the first quarter of 2010. I have no doubt that’s why the Religious Right is after their agenda.

The movement is based on money, the more they have the more they can get. That is why the Olsteens, Robertson, TD Jkes are always preaching about the better life!

Religion is based on the power and who controls it.
Look at history, most religions were used to control and subdue the poorer.

Most religions, if they were good, were targets of eradication by governments. Religions origin is to heal and help.

They’re convinced they’re right. I’d rather be happy than right

Some think they will get brownie points that will help them get into heaven.

Some are just nosy, self-righteous busybodies who think they know what's best but in reality are shockingly ignorant.

Some are a combination of the two.

They need to die thinking everything they're about is what it's supposed to be about.
