Ive heard a crackpot hypothesis saying seasonal depression around their birthday, but thats the most ive heard talking about the time of year.

That doesn't sound that crackpot to me..
Many Serial killers are psychopaths that were abused or had trauma during the formative years..
Though not all serial killers are psychopaths nor had childhood traumas.
Connecting the dots.. seasonal depression is a real thing, so is increased childhood abuse during holiday seasons and special occasions..
Ergo.. if that increases the chances of trauma to a psychopath bam.. increased chance of a serial killer..
Of course the more LIKELY truth is.. damaged and dangerous killers are born all year.. it's more likely that a few famous ones were just born at that time by pure coincidence.. (we humans love to find patterns in things where none actually exist)

As in, what happens to a mom or dad that is already borderline angry (abusive).. and winter sets in and everyone is in the house more?
