No ....lots of Christians still believe in god despite similar, if not worse things happening to them. That may have been why you started questioning your belief, but you stopped believing in god because you started using critical thought and realised by doing so that there is no evidence of a god or gods. If you take the personal out of everything it becomes much clearer to get things into perspective. The idea, that religions put into people’s heads, that we all have a personal relationship with a mythical maker, skews our thinking and leads to a dependency on him/it to deliver us from life’s vicissitudes. When we realise we have to think and manage our lives by ourselves we become stronger and more resilient people.

While I am sorry for your misfortunes, none of them are proof that there is no god. There might be a god; he might not give a rat's arse about what happens on this little planet. Fundamentally it is unknowable whether there is a god. Some people believe there is, and some people believe there isn't. And that's as far as it goes - belief!

no, that is not how you know there is no god. that is how you know there is no good god. there could, if that were the only criterion, be a bad god. how you know there is no god is that there is no evidence whatsoever for a god, and either an explanation or a theory in progress for everything for which this imaginary god is purportedly responsible. being mad at god is not the same as not believing there is one. i am sorry about your dad and the rest of it.
