What is it with me and older (sometimes much older) men? No matter what dating site I'm signed up for, most my results are +50. At best, my limit is around 55. Any older and it feels like my parents. I love my parents, most of the time, but I don't want to date them. I was in something casual with an older guy few years ago. He treated me like a princess, but the sex wasn't satisfying, neither was the social life (we mostly sat around, drank wine and watch investigative crime shows until he nodded off on the couch) and plus he was conservative, catholic, and was looking forward to getting older. He was very sweet, but his life was much more suited to someone his own age. Not saying all older guys are like that but it seems like those are the ones I keep getting. I also wonder why men my own age aren't interested in me more? I'm past my twenties and past that partying stage, but I'm not dead either. Is it the way I look? Do I look like an older woman?

Oh, honey, you know, this problem will never end. At least when it comes to dating sites. When I was 41 and just divorced, I got 55-60+ all of the time. IRL, I never had much-older men hit on me. And by "much older", I'm talking 10 years+. The virtual world is quite different. I think that it emboldens people to take chances that they normally wouldn't do in a real life social setting. I want a peer, not a daddy, and not someone I will have to take care of while I'm still in the middle of my career. Pray tell, what am I going to have in common with a retiree? The lifestyle is just completely different. Anyway, you have to just know that this happens to a lot of women -- not sure about men.

Oh so YOU'RE why the guys my age aren't contacting me? LOL

I get a lot of attention from the guys in their 70s or older.

Guess they all want to date younger no matter their age.

Most people knock a few years off their ages on dating sites and post a photo taken a few years previously. Beat them at their own game do the same then you may meet someone nearer your own age. Good luck.

It's not you, it's them.

I cannot tell. But what do I know?

I did notice on one site that told you who looked at your profile that mine was getting a LOT of looks by women in their 20s, and my profile made it clear I am 50 and not looking for anyone that young. Guys get grief for being with young women but the men aren't the only side of that coin looking, it seems.

Hang in there!!

Hey, they are rating me 80% or better compatible with guys 30 years younger...and they may be right, lol!

First of all don't blame yourself here. There has to be someone who thinks pretty much like you somewhere. You just haven't found them yet. I was multi-married. Let's just say more than once. I once married an older woman and after 12 years she died. My recent ex of 2 years ago just turned 40 in July and I'm 71. Our problems didn't seem to have anything to do with age. Maybe in time, but not now. I'm attracted to women of all ages.

Lol, I know the feeling, but I see that you are much younger than me, so I don't know why you keep getting older men. You do not look older than 40 to me. I'm 54 and I keep getting men in their 60s and some in their 70s. I hope they don't expect me to be some kind of 'nurse with a purse'. I want a guy who still has a pulse and wants to do things.

@Stepmomofdragons I can't claim ownership on that term; I actually read that on here somewhere...

@maturin1919 nurses are pretty hot..

@maturin1919 What is a ginger?
