Conspiracy theorist trends. I was wondering whether you’ve come across various conspiracy theories, like ‘chem trails’, the moon landings not happening, the annunaki, reptilians, the illuminati, and so on. Do you believe in any of it, what are your favourite conspiracy theories?

Better yet, search for proven ones, that will open your eyes.
[rd.com] here is one.

I think it’s a cottage industry here in the US.. Had some far-wrong neighbors once who fed on that stuff, seemed their motivation for existence was to ride out the next apocalypse! Honestly, I lost track of their array of conspiratorial concerns.. But, it was always ‘the government’ behind it … as if our government could pull off such stuff 😉

For me, it’s the industrial dark money that funds such conspiracy theories I fear, because apparently, they work. In part, they (almost) elected our current president 😕

These are all very widely-known conspiracy theories, and I'd be very surprised if anyone with internet access hadn't heard of at least a few of them. Personally, I like all of them - they're all total woo, but they're good fun.

Below I was reminded of the caller JC to the Art Bell show, and found this jem on youtube:

JC Calls Art Bell Accuses William Shatner of Spying for Canada

I posted this in another thread, but it fits here...: This reminds me of a Christian in youtube comments, no less, who told me Jesus was returning on Comet Elenin. Jesus would be RIDING this comet. The Russians knew all about it and were building bunkers to hide from Jesus (rather than converting, being saved and going to heaven, which would seem to be a safer bet if they "knew all about it" ). After 10 minutes of this really weird discussion, and pinning this person down to declaring this was ABSOLUTELY TRUE and UNDENIABLE--he showed me youtube vids of the comet that apparently were completely and totally conclusive--I looked up the comet. It had exploded two months previously. So I relayed the sad information that Jesus exploded and Judgment Day was canceled. His response? Jesus would be riding some other comet, then. (facepalm) Where Jesus was riding FROM, and why he needed to ride a comet to get here, was never made clear.

And I’ll give another thumbs up 🙂

Hilarious.

They all just prove how iirrational and gullible people can be. None of the crackpot theories stand up to critical thinking.

Chemtrails are not a conspiracy.

How you lump proven science in with the rest of those nonsense topics is comical. Govt agencies around the world have admitted they have been involved in weather modification. Numerous govt agencies have public contracts witgh companies like 'Weather Modification Inc.'. Their website displays dozens of affiliations with federal and state agencies, and the contents of the chemical trailing have been realesed publicly for years.

Google is your friend.

SCal Level 7 Jan 20, 2019

Weather modification and "chem trails" are two different things. Weather modification is done with small planes on a pretty local basis.

@sewchick57 Thats just your knowledge of it. Its also done with helicoptors. But there are more major scales of it.

Look at the list of agencies on just this website, you will see their clients include Naval dept of Warfare, US Defense dept and other defense agencies around the world. I can assure you they are not using crop dusters and small planes.

Further, that is just one use. Its also widely known and admitted that large blocks of sky, entiew cities, are seeded to block effects on the ozone from solar flares and etc. These are done by commercial and military jets. All public and easy to find out unless you want to not accept facts. Which is common.

@BryanLV hahaha there had to be one...

@Denker

Nice insult, no discussion here from the Denkerberry.

Have fun thinking what you already thought.

@BryanLV I’m sorry my man, it’s all good, but I had a long discussion with a friend about chemtrails, and he was saying they spray from commercial jetliners and that is just so much rubbish, those planes are weighed to the ounce to cut the fuel loads and there’s just no way you’re going to convince a board of execs to allow retrofitting of spraying nozzles and chemical tanks on a commercial passenger plane.

@Denker

I just posted a link to miltary and govts of nations who have affiliations with numerous geo engineering organizations. The site lists the aircraft they own personally. There are several jets owned just by this company. Im sure the Dept of Defense and the Navy do not own larger jets, right?

Also there are several scholarly articles and declassified docs that talk about the work. Not sure why some buddy of yours even enters the equation. I also lived on Nellis AF base for over 10 years. Theres a definite difference between a contrail of water vapor. This topic is not metaphysics like the others you mentioned.

@BryanLV but to make any kind of impact on the volume of the sky you’re going to need a lot of flights, by a lot of planes. It will come at a pretty high cost. I just don’t buy it, from an engineering and business-case point of view.

@Denker

"Even small changes in the abundance or location of clouds could change the climate more than the anticipated changes caused by greenhouse gases." - NASA

Do you believe in NASA? Are they conspiracy theorist? Local govts hire dozens of cloud seeding companies. Its not small scale. There are about 12 states involved in major lawsuits regarding their geo engineering cloud activity.

It's not even hidden. The scale is not discussed. Hey man, there were people writing books about how winged mechanical flight was not possible for man. Simultaneously while the Wright brothers had already performed flights in their flying machines.

Your belief is not required. Facts are still facts.

@BryanLV I'd be happy to believe whatever it is you're claiming (given it has sufficient evidence to support it), I'm just not sure what it is yet. "Cloud seeding" is different than every claim I've ever heard about "chem trails". The first link you posted seemed to be promoting "cloud seeding", and not much else. To my skeptical mind, that's not terribly impressive. What nefarious deed is being committed by a vast government conspiracy that is also widely known by a simple google search? You see, you seem very defensive about something that on one hand you seem to claim is ordinary, and on the other may not be ordinary but is also ambiguous. Why not just tell us what it is, and what the evidence is?

@greyeyed123

The interesting thing is that people do not dispute that cloud seeding is done for various reasons. They just discount the scale on which it is done.

So from my view, its a common sense argument based on who is doing it and what is being openly stated by these entities. Below im posting an article where China claims responsibility for cloud seeding an entire region and causing snow and rain in Beijing over a large area. 12 highways were shut down. The Philippines reported that they used cloud seeding over several cities to halt forest fires over several hundreds of square miles.

If you think governments do all of this with crop dusters, more power to you.

[scientificamerican.com]

@BryanLV But you see, the article you link to says that no single storm can be attributed to cloud seeding. The Chinese storm you allude to was after a long drought, so the Chinese government wanted to take credit for it (and droughts always end eventually, so taking credit for it is not hard to do). I don't see anything extraordinary here, or anything worth getting so defensive about. Certain areas want more water. Cloud seeding occurs to try to accomplish more precipitation. We can't tell exactly how effective it is (according to the article you just linked to). And...? So what...?

@greyeyed123

No, it doesnt say that. It says generally can't be, then it elaborates, saying its incredibly difficult. They are not the only government to claim this, but the technology to do so is not even in question. You are waiting for me to go and search the internet for you and put all of the pieces together for you, while half reading and skimming with a cognitive bias already strongly affixed.

Why would I spend my time trying to convince you? You are certainly not doing a good job with your opinions convincing me. This conversation is literally not worth happening because you are not even truly taking in the information I am giving you and then following that up with your own research.

Which is fine. I just don't see what youre trying to accomplish by repeatedly engaging me. You havent even shown why your position should be taken over the vast amount of direct evidence that it is. You and this other guy are only questioning the scale, which nothing in your statements show that scaling it up is not possible.

@BryanLV I have no idea why you are so defensive. I am not engaging you. I am not making any claims. I'm simply pointing out that you seem very angry about a claim that seems completely ordinary to me. The reason that I'm not scouring the internet for proof of your claim is that the two links you provided so far do not support anything extraordinary, and you yourself have not claimed anything extraordinary here. So far there doesn't seem to be anything to be extraordinarily upset about, so I don't know why you are so angry. Cloud seeding occurs. Sometimes it might work. Sometimes it might be on large scales. China claims it worked for them after a drought. Maybe it did. Maybe it didn't. Ok. So?

@greyeyed123

Defensive and angry are simply your opinions. I am neither. You simply took factual statements made by me as such. Which actually makes you defensive. Im simply trying to find the point you are trying to make. I also just realized youre not really reading what I sent, because you just mis-categorized what one of the articles says clearly.

What the links I posted support do not need to be extraordinary. I am only making two claims. Cloud seeding is done. Cloud seeding are what chemtrails are. From that it is easy to extrapolate that cloud seeding works, is a large business with lots of companies, governments and defense agencies paying money for it to be done. And that cloud seeding can be scaled, especially based on how rudimentary the tech is.

Are you questioning the validity or effectiveness of cloud seeding? Are you stating that cloud seeding could not be scaled up to large commercial sized aircraft? Both of those would seem odd considering that this one contractor has jets and seems to make a lot of money from numerous large government contracts.

Pretty much all of the theistic faiths, homeopathy, healing crystals to name just a few. We can also add trumpie's border crisis.

I always enjoyed listening to Coast To Coast AM with Art Bell when I worked the graveyard shift. He brought all of the loonies out of the wood work for public display.

I miss that show. Wish Art Bell was still with us. RIP, Art. There will never be another like you, as George Noorey proves every single time he sits behind the microphone you once occupied.

Remember the prank caller J.C. who always pretended to be an hysterical, slightly effeminate Christian man outraged about everything? I loved how Art would allow calls by people who were clearly doing a bit, as long as the bit was entertaining. I remember once, J.C. was going on a very long rant about Jesus, how great Jesus was, etc., and ended with, "Without Jesus? Whadda ya got? Huh? Whaddaya got? Whaddaya got?" And Art, without missing a beat, deadpanned a hilariously disinterested, "Buddha." The silence on the phone line was the funniest thing I've ever heard.

@greyeyed123

See.... George Noorey could never come up with something even half as clever.

My favorite was always that dude who claimed to have invented a time machine. That guy actually grew up about 10 miles outside of my home town. Dude was an oddball. Even by small town Nebraska standards.

When cars pass each other they create tiny whirlpools that affect the weather. Thats why in the northern hemisphere we should drive on the left and on the right in the southern hemisphere

Nope

But they are tons of fun 😉

I like the one about a loving sky daddy who gave his only son to purge mankind of their sins, born of a virgin and returning soon to destroy the sinners that he purged of their sin in the first trip. The one about JFK and the magic bullet just pales in comparison. 😀
