What sort of savage doesn’t sleep between sheets?

Apparently 15 of us who voted no top sheet.
And I’m one of those savages.

@Sydland Time to learn how to change your behavior.

Unless you have a duvet with a cover, it's nasty to sleep without a top sheet.

I'm unable to sleep without some sort of covering over me. And I keep my house very cold in the winter (about 60 degrees) so when I sleep elsewhere I'm almost always too warm and the quilt or comforter is just too warm. Which puts me in the dilemma of not sleeping because I'm too warm (with the covers provided) or feeling too vulnerable (without a sheet).

Humans are constantly releasing gas and particles from their anuses. Constantly.

Sheets can be laundered regularly. Blankets are more difficult to clean, and are done so less seldom.
Bad form.

Mary Marlowe Leverette, a laundry expert for About.com, shared this pleasant tidbit about the reality of your dirty sheets:

“During sleep, we continue to perspire, and body oils and soil are released. It is possible to find saliva, urine, genital fluids, and fecal matter in the fibers. If the [linens] are not washed regularly, and the occupant has scratches or wounds, they can be come infected. Athlete’s foot and other fungi can be transferred from fabrics. Infrequent cleaning of sheets and pillowcases allows the fluids to seep into the pillows and mattresses, and those are MUCH more difficult to clean than tossing sheets in the washer.”

And it just gets worse. The flakes of skin you lose on your sheets each night attracts dust mites, microscopic bugs that live on the fibers of your sheets and feast on human flesh. That sounds great, doesn’t it?

Makes snuggling up under the covers seem a little less inviting

I haven't used a top sheet in years just a fitted sheet and thick comforter lol

Definitely NO top sheet out here in summer when it's around 30+C at night.

Winter yes summer no

Perhaps a little bit lazy, but top sheet is too constricting and I'm well past the days of making my bed for barrack inspections, just make it neat, tidy and comfy, ready for my next encounter with sleep.

NO top sheet. Snuggly blanket only.

2

No top sheet because I don't like stuff tucked in. I sleep in between two softie cotton quilts.

Mattress protector, fitted bottom sheet, top sheet and duvet with cover on top. An easily-washable layer between hard-to-wash components and human can only be a good idea.

I just use a sleeping bag.

A top sheet, 1000 psi thread count. Heaven. Oooops. Delightful.

A duvet, does that count?

With or without a top sheet?

@Sydland Had my thicky head on, without 🙂

@ipdg77 Yes! Me too.

I know a lot of younger people sleep without a top sheet. I do not understand this fuckery.
