As I scroll through endless dating profiles I see a trend;

  1. Christian men
  2. Raising amazing children
  3. Fishing is a sport
  4. They want a woman with no baggage?
    Leads me to think Christian men divorce at a high rate due to excessive fishing with their amazing kids?
    I must convert and have kids to get a date nowadays.

Oh my god, there are certainly trends with profiles when it comes to dating across genders, and possibly websites (and the type of people they attract).

I had a brief stint on Coffee and Bagel (nice little dating app that isn't poisoned with fake profiles), and most women came across as the same person. They all loved to travel, drink coffee, were independent, wanted a man with a sense of humor who knew how to make her laugh and got along with her friends.

Fishing is dumb by the way >.>

Fishing works best when both the guy and gal are equally into it and enjoy going together... (;

@Zster yeah - when they BOTH enjoy torturing innocent fish !

@evergreen ever looked at it from the "baits" point of view???

Don't look in Utah. That state has the highest consumption of porn.
Some religions require procreation.
"Amazing" is an over used adjective describing every parent's spawn.
Fishing requires quiet. Something rare in the urban setting. So it is solace in a noisey culture.
The folks here on this site are the same as most with one exception. Sans god stuff.

Good points all

I see women who all love to fish, camp and hike and enjoy the outdoors. But outside they are nowhere to be found.

@Veteran229 Really? I could have sworn that my "camper" was made from nylon fabric! (;

I camp and hike - but when I do, I find places away from anyone else ! I guess I'm not likely to meet anyone that way ...

Most of us are busy earning a living. It's not like when we walk off work, we can just do what we want.

I might mention the notion of over-thinkiing

I got off the average/typical dating site long ago. Found an on/off/on/off lady-friend in 06 on "OKCupid that I still see on occasion...POF yielded no fish...Match always had non-existent "matches" so now i'm here...

My complaint about women who seem ready for dating is #1- not enough pics...or too many with shades...#2 "amazing kids" and #3 demanding men with "no baggage"....sound familiar?

2

I dated a woman I met on Match for almost three years. I gradually discovered just how religious she was but it wasn't a great problem.She was a bit judgemental and very materialistic and she dumped me because I couldn't afford to "wine and dine" her as she thought I should. I keep well clear of religious women now.

When I read notes like this, I am so glad I am not in the "pool". It sounds so depressing!.
I think many men (that I have as friends) have 3 or more phases

  • Phase 1 - Unhappy marriage - got to get out of it
  • Phase 2- Got to catch up on all the fun I have
  • Phase 3 - Shit I am too old to do this, I want to settle down but my priorities are all fucked up!

Ditto on what she said.. dead on !

I imagine it is because they leave the kids with the wife while they go fishing so much, that it leads to divorce, so now they are searching for a new wife to take over the kids because kids make too much damn noise when they are fishing. But that's just my guess.

If they are Christians and they are on this site they must be desperate, enough said.

I was not referring to this site...

@Corvislover I do not do the dating stuff, so have never looked to see what happens on this site or any other.

You only need One, ya know?

Yeah... and my "one" was killed by cancer....
