Sometimes I forget not everyone understands spoon theory and speaks spoonie, so I get some pretty funny reactions from non-spoonies sometimes.

"I really need food but I just used all my spoons taking a bath"

".................what?"

????????

in chronic pain patients we go by the spoon theory. Basically every task you do takes a certain number of spoons and you only get so many spoons a day. So if I have 14 spoons for my day, waking up takes one spoon, taking a bath takes 4 spoons, eating food takes a spoon, going to work takes 5 spoons, and so forth until I have no spoons left and I crash.

I like spoons, and have thanked my mother many times for teaching me how to use them properly. A terrific invention right on par with the fork, but not as earth shattering an invention as the knife.

Lol in this case it refers to chronic pain patients. Think of it as HP in video games and every single task you do takes a certain amount of HP damage and the only way to recharge is to sleep. So bathing takes -5 damage...going to work -50...eating-4 damage and so on

Do you have some examples of people who are spooned or whatever? I found this [libertarianism.org] and this [butyoudontlooksick.com] but I wasn't sure if you were talking about politics or looking for hugs, or something else. This seems like a great example of things that belong in groups.

Yes the second link is perfect. I prefer to say HP because in video game talk it makes more sense than spoons. Basically every task you do takes a certain number of spoons, or hp, and you only get so many spoons a day. So if I have 14 spoons for my day, waking up takes one spoon, taking a bath takes 4 spoons, eating food takes a spoon, going to work takes 5 spoons, and so forth until I have no spoons left and I crash.
