Today I tried to give my mother advice, and she said that the bible says that one should not listen to wicked ones! Terrible to feel the prejudice of my blood! Whom I love the most.

"and she said that the bible says that one should not listen to wicked ones!"

In that case, tell her to follow the bible and listen to Jesus.

My mother told me that people say that her kids are, "off," meaning odd. Just so you know that you are not alone.

Thanks

First, inform her that the Bible cannot say as saying is an oral form of communication. A book reads. Second, such is life. You cannot change others' views. I do not waste time any longer. Just be true to yourself, best wishes!!

I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like, I’m very fortunate my mother was long time non believer. Wish you the best with that situation, maybe your mom will come around one day, hopefully most everyone too.

is she a trumpkin? if so, then say two words to her: golden calf.

and you have my sympathy.

Religious Dogma gives people permission to do horrible things, things that they probably would have never done otherwise. as you know history is filled with these examples.
it is a different thing when it affects you personally. in the end you're doing better than I am I've never told my mother I was an atheist I just avoid the subject and she still doesn't take my advice on anything.
I feel I'd like to say more I feel your pain and wish the world was a little less cruel.

Unfortunately, two years ago I started having the courage to say I'm an atheist, I thought my family would not react so biased, sometimes she pretends she does not know, or she forgets. He always tries to get me to church. I made it clear that since I was a child I always had doubts about existence, that today I feel convinced, more so if I happen to rain manna, or the sea open up I could become. More then, I just believe what I see. I'm more prudent, I do not tell other people, because I've lost my job, even betrothed because I said I was an atheist, and I did not have to believe in God to have my character. What people I see that are fanatic are very terrible to the family.

I understand. My own mother would have done the same but she is dead now. It's a shame that people listen to "what the bible says." I quit that book years ago.

That really sucks. I’m sorry that she can’t see you for a whole person.

Did you ask her what you had done that was so wicked? Assuming nothing wicked was done, that should give her cause for pause.

That is harsh

It seem she doesn't want your advise, just take her for what she is to you and she did when you were little.
He religious bias is a wall now, avoid that kind of connection...

1

Why give advice? Your advice is only relevant to your perspective, obviously not hers. Doe she give you advice that you disregard?

Do not hurt, because I listen to you, and respect you. Regardless of your religion.

Tell her the Bible also says turn the other cheek

I understand. No one should have to tolerate being treated badly by others, ESPECIALLY family members. Family is vastly over-rated. I know that people think that they have to just live with it, because they ARE FAMILY, but it is better to cut the ties. I've had to do it, and never regretted it.

I just wish she would accept and respect, but I would not give her away. In spite of everything, I love her, even though she is incensed, insane and fanatic.

@ylma Just be sure to love yourself the most.
