Short answer..the Republican controlled Senate will not convict, 45 gets "exonerated " & the Dems take a major hit in an election year. Mitch McConnell has a stranglehold on the Senate....& unless the American electorate turns out in landslide numbers to vote this utter & dangerous embarrassment out of office, we endure 4 more years & permanent damage on a global scale. Impeachment isn't about crime. Regardless of debate about the ethics of ability/ inability to criminally indight a sitting president, impeachment is about deciding that a president simply isnt fit to serve, not about specifying he broke the law. Thats why Clinton was dragged through impeachment hearings because of his sex life.

And Pelosi takes heed from President Clinton's farcical impeachment. The persecutors lost the following election.

According to the Justice Dept a sitting president can't be charged or arrested in office. Must wait till he leavess office.

A hate crime is an action against a person or property. Racial slurs don't pass that bar. So no, not an impeachable offense. Assuming that a hate crime even passed that bar, which is questionable. Would depend on the actual crime I suppose.

Because the Senate will never remove him & Speaker of the House doesn't wish to distract from his defeat by engaging in an unpopular & a failed attempt at removing him, via impeachment. The country will suffer more than if we remove him by elections. Mitch is only permitting the approval of judges by the Senate to reach the floor for a vote. Replacing POTUS in 2020 is where the energy should focus according to Warrior Princess Pelosi. Then locking him up in Rikers, unless he flees to Moscow, Pyongyang or Rihad. Chess anyone?
