I already know that i do not believe in God But i do not wanna say anything for sure, i mean who knows? And I hate the concept that no matter what i do there might be somebody who can control me, and I been trying to find something that supports something like that on the Internet but I just got more confused by that, Am i an atheist or something else? I AM CONFUSED AF😐

Yes you’re an atheist by my definition. Atheist does not mean “I claim absolute knowledge” about anything except that you realize the logical inconsistencies and impossibility of the existence of any god described so far. You’re without theism, without gods. Pick a form of theism with a god or gods if you wish to not be an atheist.

I consider myself agnostic atheist. Agnostic describes what I (don’t claim to) know and atheist describes what I (don’t) believe in. If you don’t like the term atheist look into the terms Agnostic, ignostic, apatheist, humanist, freethinker, all the other options they give on this site for what you might be and pick the one you think suits your intentions best. None of them disqualify you from also being an atheist but with as much judgement as atheists get it might be preferable to use a different term for you. Use whatever you identify strongest with.

Well said.

There are a lot of things that are impossible to know. However as Matt Dillahunty says : the best time to believe in something is when you have the evidence to believe in it, especially if you want to believe as many true things as possible. I find that my own personal intuition is my best tool. manipulation is always one-sided.

Your looking at the subject objectively. To me you are good. I believe the same thing. I'm not gonna waste my life arguing about something we will never know.

3

You are who you are regardless of your beliefs or non-beliefs. Live your life accordingly and strive to do or cause no harm.

3

Most likely you're agnostic.

I would like to stress that this position of agnosticicsm is in no way weak or anything to look down upon. It is a truly believable position as no proof either way of god's existence have ever arisen. Please do not lose sleep over finding one either. People have argued for centuries.

2

Your an agnostic atheist--one who doesn't know or can't know if a god exists, but does not believe in any.

2

The difference between atheism and agnosticism is often semantic and and technical, and it is possible to be an agnostic atheist or a gnostic atheist. Atheist means you do not believe in a god, gods, or other supreme deities. Agnostic means you are not sure what you believe and are open to other possibilities.

If you are a gnostic atheist, it means you are completely sure that there is no god, and is in itself a form of belief in nothing.

if you are a agnostic atheist, it means that you do not believe in god, but if the clouds suddenly opened up and Jesus floated down or the flying spaghetti monster reveled itself, you might change your mind. From your description you most likely fall into this category.

I call myself an atheist. Not because of certainty, but due to lack of evidence, and considering, that the conclusion of one or more god or superior beings isn't based on anything that would even be nearly a good basis. In short, I don't have a god to believe in.

Just be yourself here and learn

1

I don’t believe in man made gods to where someone tells you god told them this or that and if you don’t believe you will be punished. I do believe in a personal god. It may be yourself or a higher power. I believe God is in your thought and you create reality within your thoughts. Your imagination is God

1

why look for labels, just say that you are a non believer, the labels for atheist or agnostic or whatever you want to come up with are just labels, just as there are no labels for someone who doesn't believe in the tooth fairy, or the three little pigs there shouldn't be labels for not believing in religions or gods, no need for confusion, besides who gives a fuck about what you believe or don't believe in other than yourself?

Let's approach this logically.

There is zero evidence that cave trolls ever existed so I feel confident in stating categorically that there are not now nor has there ever been cave trolls. The same goes for fairies, orcs, mermaids, and fire-breathing dragons. Would you agree that these creatures are based on no actual evidence and are only mythical or, do you hold out a small percentage of possibility that they might be real but we just haven't seen any of them?

Since there is no more evidence for god than for any of these fanciful creatures it seems reasonable to apply the same standard to his reality. Your answer should guide your expectations for a god.

So, what's your answer -- is there the possibility that fairies, orcs, mermaids, and fire-breathing dragons might be real or are they decisively mythical?

I would like to start by stating that I 100% do not believe that any gods exist. But, I still accept that, as I do not possess all of the knowledge of the universe (or universes) I cannot 100% know that no such being/beings exist(s). I also cannot know whether mermaids exist on some other planet, or orcs, or fairies. I think the odds are about the same a god existing-but, still, I will not claim to have that absolute knowledge.

Your feelings and thoughts don’t need to be ‘for sure.’ If they lack the concept of a god, so be it. And there’s no need to describe yourself, I hope..

Atheist, I’ve found no evidence or examples of any force beyond that of nature or ourselves. Religion is a tool of control, feeding on the fact we don’t yet know ‘everything.’ We don’t need to know it all, but we do need to trust ourselves. Stick with that, you should be good 🙂

Sure it is possible there is some unknowable god that does not want to be known, this god would be a deist. In which case the god does not care about being worshiped. So it does not matter.

There is no god that is evident in any way.

This I call the test of a false god.
Any god that is not real requires faith to believe in it. There is no god that does not require faith.

If a god by definition can not be known or perceived then I can not know what I by definion can not know, therefore to be honest I am agnostic about such a god. I am therefore agnostic.

I am completely certain there is no god that is proffered by religion, therefore I am atheist. I do not believe there is a god.

I can only be expected to live my life by what I know is real. There is no god that has taken it upon themselves to let us know they are real. So I am an atheist.

I hope that was helpful.l

I lack any belief gods, thus I am willing to say I am atheist. I am not 100% sure that I am correct but no evidence has demonstrated my error yet, so I am agnostic. If, somehow, somebody were to prove conclusively that a god existed (not even a specific one), I would then say I know that god exists and would no longer be atheist. I also wouldn't be relying on faith/belief so read into that what you will. Fun stuff, but in the end, just a word salad to try to get the basic idea out there that I require testable, repeatable, significant proof before I will concede to the notion of a god's existence.

Don't be concerned with labels. It does not matter.

Whether there is a God or not, is really two (or more) questions...is there a "Christian" God as believed by bible thumpers, or is there a God that is completely different from the concept of a Christian God. If there were a god, is he/she (why would a god need a gender?), even aware that there are humans? So, it would seem that Atheism-belief in God is not a binary question.

0

Do you believe in any gods? If not, you're an atheist. Whether you believe there aren't any gods is a separate matter. If you just don't believe the claim that a god or any gods exists, that's atheism.

0

Gods do not control people. People control people. Gods are not concerned with your sex life or if you masturbate. They are also not watching you take a crap or watching over you as you sleep.

0

If there were a God who could control you, does it not stand to reason that it would also know your thoughts? So, whether you say anything verbally or otherwise is really of no consequence at this point.

Besides, don’t you think an omnipotent being has more to worry about than whether or not you believe in His/Her/Its’ existence? This God should be doing something to merit it’s condition for worship, like ending senseless suffering, don’t you think?

I laugh at these guys who kiss their cross and point to the sky when they’ve made a goal of some sort at a sporting event, as if to say, “It’s all for you baby! Thanks for choosing sides!” It’s all good, of course, till the guy on the other side starts scoring a few points of his own, also crosses his heart, kisses his fingers and points to the sky.

You see, it’s all arbitrary. Like God would really be helping one person to win over another when there are boney children with distended bellies covered with flies in Africa? Again, what has this God done to merit your worship of it, much less your belief in its existence?

You’re thinking too hard about it.
You don’t have to be anything or make any declarations of any sort.

The correct path will open up when it’s right for you. Once on this path you can always change directions if you change your mind.
Nothing is fixed

"IF God really existed it would be necessary to abolish him!"

Mikhail Bakunin from God and the State.

Bakunin goes on to argue that the very concept of God is an assault on the ideal of human liberty, that a master in heaven is the best excuse for a master on earth, that the idea of a God is absurd yet if it wasn't a fiction we should choose to rebel (like Satan) for anything less is to accept servitude and be a slave

You are YOU and that's what counts.

The term 'atheist' is defined differently by different people, and you can so easily end up in arguments that are all about definitions and miss any other point.

For myself, I define 'atheist' as someone who is not a theist - so if you don't meet the requirement to be a theist (ie believe in the existance of at least one divine, supernatural entity) then you are an atheist... simple as that.

The bottom line, however, is that 'atheist' is just a lable - and one without a generally accepted definition - so if you talk to people, just define YOU.
