Maybe one should explain to those Christians who praise god for surviving the recent massacres that god wasn't watching.
No! He was spectating, like an ancient Roman emperor in an amphitheatre, ready to give his thumb up or thumb down for each case as his whim took him.

He didn't help because he was helping Karen find her keys.

To be fair satan does love to hide peoples keys! Thats why i have this keychain made out of a piece of the shroud of torin.

@LucasfromGR big shroud.

Sometimes I think the idea of worshiping a god means it gets credit for everything wonderful, good and positive, and takes zero responsibility for the opposite.

...how Convenient….

Seems to display some seriously narcissistic traits there. Not you, the god you mention.

This god has a great gig. It gets the credit when things go good and none of the blame when they go bad. It kind of flies in the face of those who believe in personal responsibility. Oh, wait, many of these believers have a devil to blame for their bad behavior; and, all they have to do is ask for forgiveness every time they "sin." They don't stop to consider the fact that this god created the devil, and therefore evil, and is ultimately responsible for their bad behavior. But, we come right back to this god getting a pass and the circle of delusion begins again.

Such religious thinking constantly reminds me of the many ‘Cults’ podcasts I’ve listened to … in which, their doctrines continuously morph to fit & fill their gaps in answers. It’s like the longer, more established, or successful ‘cults’ (now mainstream religions) have arrived at the same … in their followers minds at least..

@Varn Joe Rogan said it the best: “A cult is bullshit. It’s created by one person and THAT person knows it bullshit! In a Religion...THAT dude’s dead.”

Iike this ?

@evergreen Yep, that's the god 🙂.

You’re being too rational. Just take 4 Hail Marys and call me in the morning

@abyers1970 How about four Bloody Marys instead?

One thing i could never understand is how god could allow a young child to be molested. If i were all powerful i would kill the son of a bitch before he did that. Plus, How can you say all things work to the glory of god. No way in hell could child molestation have any redeeming qualities.

Exactly .

Funny believers … Their god/s blows up entire islands and then the followers praise her/him/it for saving a tiny lamb… which they then sacrifice to thank her/him/it.

5

This epitomises the illogical thinking which the religious display. They never stop to think why he didn’t intervene and prevent the massacre before it happened....or why he decided to allow some to be killed and some not! No logic.

No logic because God was invented by illogical people.

@Petter can’t fault your logic there!

4

Believers : " My thoughts and prayers are with you "
God: " Sorry I cannot answer at this moment" ..."The mailbox of this human creation is full and cannot take any messages..."

4

And of course, there's always the old standby explanation: "The lord works in mysterious ways".

Are you describing Donald, by any chance? 😂🤣

@PetterThe "Lord" messed up big time, there!

4

Couldn't agree more. God would probably be the biggest mass murderer in history if he was a real person

4

Unfortunately logic is not present in a brainwashed brain, logic tells me if you are going to praise god for surviving, then all the deceased victims relatives should condemn god for their loved ones murder.

4

Brilliant. And ‘only here’ will we find mention of it..

Yes - why all the post-event prayers - where was their god to begin with - and why did, and does it continue to sit back and do Nothing to stop this?

Hollow prayers, hollow beliefs, hollow morals … hollow minds ~

Varn Level 8 Aug 8, 2019

@kodimerlyn I thought ‘he gave us our morals,’ too.. Where is/ was he? If he’s listening to every prayer, why is he ignoring such violence..? Is a killers prayer (to kill as many as possible) answered before those praying daily that their family remain safe?

What I’ve also noticed is how they’ll blame it on their ‘Devil.’ Which would have me asking, if the devil is so powerful, and your god is so weak, is this not a sign that you’re praying to the wrong power? Should we be praying to the Devil not to kill us or those we love … or the innocent?

If anything, I envision their Devil sitting alongside their God enjoying The Games 😕

@kodimerlyn "god gave us free will" bullshit. How do you argue that sentiment?

If God created us, He would know what we're going to do. It's on par with blaming an infant son for pissing on you when you change the diaper. You know he'll do it . If you were God, you'd know when the baby is going to do it. We can expect it without a time table to guide us.

Somewhere there's a teenage parent saying he's still pissing on us sans urine.

God spectates in Mass murder and child molestation but he is sure to intervene when Kenneth Copeland, Oral Roberts and Joel Osteen needs millions of dollars to buy new planes.

Whereupon his bounty (tax free) becomes endless.

3

It's simple. God protected the ones he loves, but he wanted the ones he loves to be by his side... So he brought them home. Where's the confusion? 😛

3

Even the use of "he" illustrates the misogyny of part of these religions that use it.
Fairy tales, nothing more.

3

If it does not exist, then you can give it any properties you like, and change them as often as you like, even mid sentence. The ultimate DIY dream.

God made the gun in the first place

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

― Epicurus

Then you have the song "From a Distance" by Bette Midler:

From a distance the world looks blue and green
And the snow capped mountains white
From a distance the ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight
From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It's the voice of hope
It's the voice of peace
It's the voice of every man
From a distance we all have enough
And no one is in need
And there are no guns, no bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed
From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of hope
Playing songs of peace
They are the songs of every man
God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us from a distance
From a distance you look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
What all this fightings for
From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
And it's the hope of hopes
It's the love of loves
It's the heart of every man
It's the hope of hopes
It's the love of loves
This is the song for every man
God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us from a distance

2

Why would you praise a god(s) that according to their own belief reality is actually causing the catastrophe that they just survive????

Nah, that’s the devil that does the naughty stuff. A convenient fall guy

2

Indeed …Most believers have that strange logic

no fucking logic you mean

1

"It's God's mistery" is my mom's answer to all these questions. "Men can't understand his mind"

Edu_0 Level 4 Aug 10, 2019

"her", surely?

1

In the beginning were the GODS. So, them betting on anything is allowed.

All was fine until rabid monotheism took hold everywhere. Until just over a thousand years ago one could still blame Loki for any mean or mischievous happenings.

@Petter I'm not sure about that. Wasn't Socrates sentenced to death for impiety?

@Paul_Clamberer Blaming Loki was anything but impiety. The Vikings had it right!

@Petter Loki is the only god. And he is a shit.

1

Goes with being delusional

1

These recently occurring indents a proof that no God Exist or If he does He is the greatest serial killer of all written history for once again religious nuts, murder inasant people of whom they did not know or care for their rights as human beings

1

That's a fitting analogy. I like that. 👍
