As a gay man I grow increasingly tired of the seemingly shallow attitude in the dating pool. It seem like the materialistic nature really rears its head in terms of prerequisites for dating. Hugh dong, model appearence, big bank accounts and even credit scores. I am like WTF is the point of dating someone or even talking to them if they are not even interested in you for who you are. Why can't people just love each other for common interest and being a decent human being rather than all the things that are destroying us.

Still even that might be an improvement over the days when i would go to a club, get off my face and somehow wake up with someone whose name i might not remember 
These days, I'm all for the 'common interests' and especially the 'decent human being' part but that takes time to get to know people. Maybe I'm getting old but tbh thats more important to me than the dating part

Poor you. It is no different that it is in the straight world. My arguement in the gay marrage debate: why shouldnt they be as miserable as straight people lol.

Well I quit the dating sites and my area cannot be changed so readily. But a post I saw on here and the comment I got back prompted this post. The fucking shallowness just seems to get worse.
That's a shame, I didn't realize it was so competitive (?) In the dating world. Ladies aren't much better. They think because they can run a 5k that you need to be a 6ft tall cross fit he man to date them. lol

Seems like "love" is endused better by flashy objects and large numbers rather than TLC. Maybe we should stop fooling ourselves, and acknowledge our primate nature.

Bonobos are primates who do not follow that trend. But I often feel like giving up.
