Similar things are posted every day because of the great success of reality themes in media. Of course, there is little "reality" to it even if we have taken Reality TV into the White House. I personally do not give a damn about about this but maybe it is a way of posting news regardless. If I were the royal couple I would run and hide.

Maybe you could ask why people care. Maybe I can help:

They are national and cultural icons. Americans in particular are raised on fairy tales of princes and princesses and so it is natural some care about these real-life examples from the place many of their ancestors left from. In fact, a large portion of the American population claims descent from Euro royalty, so they're like the lottery, something that feasibly could have been (even if it was never going to happen).

It’s appeared to me (because this discussion’s come up before) that women love the pageantry and ‘fairy princess’ stuff … where men most often abhor it. Women must feel ‘any commoner may be swept off her feet’ and turned into ‘a princess,’ where men realize, if they’re not born with ‘a title,’ that shit ain’t happening…

@Bobby9 escapism isn't a new fantasy and it isn't limited to the royal family. It seems silly for you to tell people how to live their lives over how they come across their fancies.

@Varn idk about any of that, but I know that many of us came up on Disney, and that company's media glorifies royalty like it should be on everyone's bucket list.

You aren't exactly the arbiter of good taste and if I cared to dig I guarantee I'd find something you enjoyed that is as silly or worse.

The owners of the world follow these simple rules to keep the masses entertained. Pageantry , pomp and pretence. While we watch the queen have a horrible anus they steal from us all. Keep in your place. Its not for regular folks to enjoy the bounty of the world.we get it rationed out hourly, weekly and yearly untill we are worn down at 65. Just a couple of years from the grave.

I listen to a lot of BBC … but nearly puked the night of the last ‘royal wedding.’ I’d thought the BBC was above that …but nooooo Listen when I can’t sleep … so what a shitty night that was 😕

They care because of the same reason people worship a god .They were deluded into doing so . It’s unbelievable that the majority of the pathetic citizens of the UK support the monarchy and these useless bloodsuckers.Look at all the attention and coverage that this Country showed over the wedding .I refused to watch any of that drivel .I could not give a crap about these people.

I am not a royalist but i also could not give a fuck about what a US citizen thinks about them.

@fedup Ok , maybe my response was a bit over the top, but for an American to call a large section of the UK population "pathetic" when many Americans are in love with the royal family is a bit ironic, but then of course not many in the US appreciate irony '😉
I said I wasn't a royalist and I couldn;t care less about Andrew. If he was a naughty boy then let him get what is coming to him.
I remember this great story about Andrew. He was playing a round of golf with David Duvall at St Andrews when he was president of the Royal and Ancient. Duvall was taken aside after the game and castigated for not following protocol and calling Andrew "sir" His reply was "but I did say several times ""that was a princely shot Andrew"" Love it.
