She needs to finish growing up and school where they can teach her about how to talk to grown ups and on a world body platform like the UN. If the parents could not teach her yet maybe the school can.

Maybe the school can play Malala Yosoufzai's speech given with respect, composure, elegance, maturity, articulation and effective presentation at the UN on July, 12, 2013 which happened to be her 16th birthday....

The speech came just a year after she got shot with a bullet in the head on a school bus in Pakistan. No white privileged background in a rich country. Just an honest, compassionate little girl from a 3rd world country who was still recovering from a not just serious but on-the-brink-of-death brain surgery - 6,000 miles from where she was shot. The speech was given in front of the full UN Body to a rising audience with a full applause, not in a side summit.

Respect and appreciation like that are not created by others around a person. It is created by the person who has her own light. Malala never said... how dare you? She was not controversial after the speech but the world adored her and came together, the world was not irritated like it has been by Greta Thunberg's irrational, disrespectful rant at world body. Malala united people for a cause, did not divide. She was not looking for glamour, glitz. She just a took an economy seat in a passenger plane from London. No fashion statement of any kind there.

You should be ashamed of celebrating someone who yells at, screams at a world body platform at elected world leaders where she was invited. She would be thrown out of most places for this behavior.

2. This post is not about her age or disability. It is about the wrong messenger who is immature, was disrespectful, ranted against the respected world body the UN that has been solving multitude of issues around the world including sending world leaders to jail for human rights violations

The climate change is a real issue but its urgency has been prophesied previously since 1970s. Doomsday scenarios of the world freezing or ending, calamities sinking modern cities in less than 4 years, 10 years, 20 years have been predicted before, ultimatums were given by none other than scientists before. Many have been wrong before.

Greta Thunberg's "How dare you " outbreak is not going well even with the environmental activists and more stories about the backlash are now coming out.

That is what this post is about.

No, just because she is a child, she cannot get away from yelling at world leaders with disrespect. Very effective and even younger activists have appeared before the UN like Malala Yousafzai and have earned respect with decency and presentation. They made their points very effectively.

There was nothing emission free and the disrespectful rant is now not appreciated. Greta sure needs to finish school and growing up first before coming to the UN to say anything again. The immature girl does not understand how she fits in the game plan of the activists.

I absolutely love the fact that she is a spokesperson for the climate issue. There couldn't be a better person. I also admire the open talk about her Asperger's because she is an extremely capable individual, a real role model for all. You also get to see all of the people who think somehow they can mock her for her individual difference, her youth, or her opinions. Really says a lot. She is awesome!

@St-Sinner In all our discussion it seems I am to assume the 25+ years I have dedicated to environmental awareness, the library of books I have read, memberships in numerous organizations (many on a board), tons of activities discussions and so on that all this has been, according to some with obvious conflicts of interests, a waste of time. I have seen the world and seen it change a lot over all this time but that supposedly means nothing. The only thing I can figure out is that this is some sort of experiment with crazy ideas thrown in to see how people will react. From now on I will only react to people who have at least half a brain.

@JackPedigo Age or 25 years do not make right on any issue. There are many old people who are not as smart as today's 15 year olds, We already know educated does not necessarily mean smart.

Therefore, this post does not dispute environmental awareness. It sheds light on the media frenzy, fancy of the glitz of the fully orchestrated campaign of the existing issue like we all are sleeping at the wheel and she was the only savior for all us. Can I expect you to think?
