I can envision a future where religions utilize VR to create an immersive saccharide substitute for in-person participation. Streaming sermons in a virtual church with streamlined donation prompts could replace mass meetings. And a VR version of the Hajj is just around the corner, endorsed by a tech-oriented Imam.

Awesome reply!

and that will appeal to the next gen more than most any game?

@Davesnothere Probably not, which is a good thing. Let's hope that the continued growth of "nones" (those who express no religious identity or belief) seen in northern Europe, Canada and the US, spreads to all countries.

I asked god this morning, he said he has a grudge only against sex, Philistines, Cain and bacon. In a lesser degree he dislikes the Devil, Mormons, Scientologists and Joel Osteen...

Love your response!!!!

Nah, God never holds grudges against anybody or anything. 😉

If we’re talking about the god of the “Abrahamic” religions, he seems to have a grudge against everyone and everything! Dude has serious anger-management issues.

Fuck yeah, but he has gotten over his issues with shrimp, probably because of the popularity of Red Lobster Restaurants. 😀

@Surfpirate I’m a Coen Bros. fan, and love a scene in “Hail Caesar!” in which a studio exec seeks approval for a religious film from three priests and a rabbi. The rabbi gets exasperated at the christians talk of Jesus and exclaims: “God has children? And what, a dog? A collie maybe? ... God is a bachelor, and very angry!” I think that about nails it for me!

There is no verifiable, falsifiable, evidence, facts or data to even suggest that any god(s) exist.

Zeus will be most displeased at your words. 😉

I thank Goddess for Morena Baccarin.

@Paul4747 I can understand that.

I think they are canceling prayers because when they don't work a lot of people will lose faith and then the churches will lose a lot of revenues. In the end most religions primary concern is to keep the money coming in.

The Waninabies Islamic sect the controls Mecca will loose $$$billions upon $$$ billion by canceling the Hajj!

Those who go are fleeced and taken advantage of so completely to complete their Islamic once in a lifetime pilgrimage to Mecca to worship a meteor encased in stone temple!!!

That's because praying doesn't work in the real world.

The Saudis have closed or restricted access to most sites. I wonder how old the photo is.

Not sure. The Guardian used this photo: [theguardian.com]

@LaDizdeOdd The photo is from August last year. Recent photos show the place deserted
