Oh shit, I should've it would too good to be true.
Just had the neighbourhood Evangeloon shouting his lungs out, in his front yard no less, that " God has sent this Corona virus to cleanse the Earth of ALL the Atheists, Agnostics, Heathens, Pagans and Heretics so that the true believers may inherit the Earth as they should."
Makes me kind of wonder how much 'collateral' damage, i.e.how many Xrstians), this Sky Daddy is willing to incur and how many of these 'True' believers have already died from this 'cleansing.'

Have you asked him that? I think that would be something interesting, the answer should be rubbish but should be great fun to listen to the gibberish. It would be interesting as well to point out the percentage of each that has perished due to this. I believe the percentage of religious people that perished should be higher. Well, this is me, wondering. I might be talking rubbish as well...

I've asked about their batshit crazy beliefs before. It's always some version of if so and so, died from (insert name of their god's current plague) then so and so wasn't really a true believer.

@JimG, great stuff. Well, on these things there isn't really anything we can do about the personal beliefs. However, the situation you described me sounds ridiculous, like any other preacher of whatever happens. I find funny at the moment as I already saw some end of the world theories and so called prophecies emerging. How many of those have appeared before and it still hasn't happened? I think it's good to laugh a bit with all this.

@Paddypereira I tried to find information about end of the world predictions in the U.S. alone. There are so many it's overwhelming but they've been pretty common going at least as far back as 1844.

@JimG, not surprised about that. These crazy times will bring more end of the world and conspiracy theories to light. What can we do?

I avoid verbal and any other contact with him as best I can, as does the rest of the neighbourhood, the gibberish that he spews forth is more than enough to turn any sane person into complete nutcase.

@Triphid, you know better the character. By the description you gave it seems the guy is really unaware of how much of an arse he's making out of himself. In terms of his behaviour, it's annoying. In terms of making a fool out of himself, it's his problem.

@Paddypereira You could be right, though ever so many, including myself, have tried in times past to get across to him that he is making a pest and nuisance, etc, of himself, why even his own family have expressed the same at the times when they have visited him but it just does not seem to sink in.

@Triphid, unfortunately, the worst deaf is the one that doesn't want to listen. Nothing you can do about it.

@Paddypereira Not much except hope he decides to move as far away as possible, preferable to a point somewhere out in the middle of the Indian Ocean for example.
He doesn't actually own the house he is in, his mother paid for it and gave it to him ( probably, imo, to get him away from her as well).

@Triphid, what??? For fuck sake!!! He should be disturbing some Mafia boss like that. They would straighten his attitude up in their own way.

Er, sorry for the 'typo' in my initial comment, kind of hard to use a keyboard when my eyes are filled with tears of laughter.
It should read, " should have known it would be too good be true."
