Adorable!

She will weigh your heart and find it lighter than the feather of truth.

Maybe she is related to Dumbo.

They are rigidly"up", even when she sleeps, no flapping/takeoffs here!

Anubis would be an awesome name for her!!

Went with "Sassy" before ever met her, it had the first letter of her supposed given name, "Sloane"...(I know, right?)

@AnneWimsey it can be hard to name them if you haven't even met them (I foster dogs a lot and usually I get the "we just picked up a dog for you and on our way to the vet, you have 30 min to pick a name!" lol no pressure) My first personal pup the shelter named Rose (meh), once I got her, she was nameless for about 2 weeks while I tried different things. Ended up calling her TeeCee, stands for Terminally Cute 🙂 And then all dog parents end up calling their dogs multiple names anyways; "What's up girly?" "Hey silly goose" and my fav "Nononostopthat!"

Personally, and with due respect, I've long felt that the name 'Artemis' evokes a uniquely X chromosome strength.

In honor of your new companion, please allow me to share a sentiment that is in our vet's waiting area.

Great quote. Well worth turning my head sideways to read it.

I have a throw pillow that says "I hope I am the kind of person my dog thinks I am".......

She's precious!

I've been thinking about getting another, myself.

Yep, me too it's been many years since my best mate, Charlie the Blue Heeler, died and I miss his company every single day, especially his very regular reminders that he thinks its time for 'smoko' when I'm working outside but ONLY because HE always expected to get his own bowl of coffee or tea and a share of any biscuits on offer as well....LOL.
Haven't got another dog though because, in my mind, NO other dog could ever fill his paw prints unfortunately.
Especially considering his attitude of " I'll tolerate having a bath BUT ONLY if I get towel dried and brushed all over AFTER it."

@Triphid He was a very handsome boy!!!
Her Royal Cuteness didn't care for baths either, but she absolutely loved getting towel dried. Wasn't crazy about brushing though.

It's almost a year, and I am vacillating. Some days, I think it's time and I'm ready. Other days, not even a little bit.
I miss her every minute of every day. She was amazing.

She could "hear" whenever I was about to make a ham sandwich.
I titled the pic "LaciHamFace", in my pics folder.

@KKGator Kind of just like Charlie, I reckon he had a clock built in, would always be at the door precisely at 5pm every day ( Meal time), by no later than 8.30am waiting for his 'breakfast of 2 slices of toast with butter, promite and a slice of cheese to be followed up with either his black tea with 1 sugar or his white coffee with 1 sugar.
I trained him to sit patiently at his bowl and wait to be told he could eat his evening meal, we got him, rescued more likely, when he about 5 months old, had been chained to a fence continuously, never house-trained but as son we got him home he immediately settled on ONLY using one specific corner of the backyard to do his 'business' in, when in the house, most of the time every day, he'd give me a nudge to inform me he needed to go do his business, then he'd do his regular 'dog patrol' of the yard and scrap on the door to be let back in.
In summer he'd give an odd look if he found that the Air Cooler wasn't switched and in winter he'd standing in front of wood fire and pretend to shiver if it wasn't already burning.
Once I discovered that he had devoured a whole crop of Garlic that I was growing and could not understand why I refused to allow him inside the house for 3 days afterwards.

Truly majestic ears! She's a beauty, and seems so sweet. Is she cuddly yet?

Only had her since Saturday morning, she is quite clingy right now, although I see glimmers that she is Definitely a Terrier.

@AnneWimsey I always find clingy better than skittish, because it seems to imply more trust, so that's cool. I'm glad she's settling in well.

@Lauren when I picked her up, she had been on the transport van 3 days, with constant barking...I thought they had sent the wrong dog...tail tucked up so tight it couldn't be seen....then I had to pick her up into the car crate, she started shaking like a leaf. Drove home an hour, no radio, just a few remarks to them so she could hear my voice. I must admit I had worries! But she seems to be bold, deep down, just needs time.

@AnneWimsey What a terrible experience for such a cutie! But some things just can't be helped. But at least, she's HOME now and she'll relax soon and begin to fit right in. Good Luck to ya and let us know her name. 💞

@AnneWimsey The poor little thing! It's a shame she had to go through that, but you were no doubt a calming influence from the beginning. And you have an affinity for inner boldness, so a good fit. 🙂

There ya go! I did not realize waiting was important, lol
