Was a news article online. Driver thought he hit something and stopped to see but the coyote was jammed inside front bumper. He didn't know till he went to park his van in the train station lot that he did hit something. No charges were filed, happened in Palos Park, IL.
Rest assured the coyote was rescued and homed in a forest preserve sanctuary near Chicago IL.

Without coyotes, we would be overrun with mice and rats.
We need big predators to balance the ecosystem.

I agree but was thinking larger prey. Your comment prompted me to look up their diet on Wikipedia and I was very surprised by the breadth of their diet.
Looks a bit more like Coyote.
