Recently I went to Dollar General and wanted some shoe polish and a shoe horn. The checkout was in her 60's and plainly did not know what a shoe horn was. I told her they were usually plastic and sort of like a big spoon. She showed me a big metal spoon and I bought it for a dollar. As for the shoe polish, it has now become "scuff cover." George Carlin could have had a good time with this info.
Surprising that someone in their 60's didn't know what a shoehorn was. If I go into a dep't store I usually look for the oldest person there to serve me because firstly, they are more likely to know what I'm talking about and secondly, I'm more likely to get respectful service.
How silly. A shoe horn is obviously a name for a bird.
@OwlInASack The Vikings wore birds on their feet? That' silly too.
