All they had to do was spend every single penny to build a wall and place it at the border. They could have just built it themselves and legally received a salary for years. They could have hired people in need of a job, any job, even a pointless one. Heck they could have even paid themselves to go to college and get trained in construction engineering. As long as they worked hard and honestly spent every penny towards seriously building the wall. They would have been fine. Instead they just decided to steal and not even try to plan and do the hard pointless totally useless construction work. It never even crossed their minds.
