Does the evidence for reincarnation prove (at least some kind of) 'god' exists?

What objective evidence do you have for reincarnation? What objective evidence do you have that any god exist? When I was a christian I believed in a god, when I was a pagan, I believed in reincarnation. Now I don't believe in either of them.

There is no such thing as proof in science.

I usually add "apart from Math" to my 'rants' about that 'proof' word. 😮

@FearlessFly For good measure, I sometimes also throw in spirits (e.g. over-proof whiskey), mints (as in proof coins), printing (pre-publication proofs), and puddings.

Present this evidence, then we can discuss what it may or may not prove.

Keep posting this and people are going to think you're soft in the head.

That ship has sailed lol

I'm beginning to wonder if logic exists. It's not evident in your questions.

I'm kind of torn between NO, and NO and NO, or what the hell are you talking about Willis? 🙄

2

"Evidence for reincarnation"..........got any?

2

There is evidence to support the idea of reincarnation? That's news to me. I'd love to see it.

No and no.

  • Nature recycles. Biological matter gets reused in living beings, which is really cool. That aint reincarnation.

** Hallucinations, dreams, wishful thinking, and delusions about some notion of prior lifetimes is NOT evidence.

2

Where does your evidence came from? Songs, like Age of Aquarius? There is no evidence. Easily disproved psuedo science? Nope.

What about that one song "I just died in your arms tonight" and he went on to sing about it... either reincarnation or resurrection. Songs, almost as rock solid as something I read on Twitter/FB.

2

If god was NOT a god of reincarnation then reincarnation would not prove that style of god exist.

Ok. There are studies that are published in peer reviewed scientific journals on young children claiming to be reincarnated. There is debate on many as to whether this is simply a cultural phenomenon, as in Hindu culture, or something else. But there are a number of case studies done with children from European cultures & some where there was no explanation for how the child could have obtained such specific & accurate information about someone who was identified by the researchers as a real person who lived & died long before in another part of the world. I'm not completely convinced that the phenomenon is truly an indication of evidence for reincarnation. Perhaps it is a psychic phenomenon? Both the U.S. & Russian governments spent millions on their psychic intelligence collection programs & had some significant results. Both phenomena have been documented well enough at this point I believe to demonstrate that something is occurring which is outside of our current scientific understanding. That much I will concede. But regardless of what's causing it, if it is a naturally occurring phenomenon then it holds no more or less weight than any other seemingly miraculous phenomena in nature. Therefore, it can neither prove nor disprove any existence of a higher consciousness.

First, cite the proof for reincarnation!

1

the numerous & lengthy - investigations & examination of reincarnation -
by UVA - shed some light upon such historically recurring subject matter -

1

Demonstrate there is reincarnation.

I simply cannot dismiss the story of Jenny Cockell' reincarnation and many others.

[exemplore.com]

We cannot say this is a lie or that an interviewer made this story up. This is REAL no matter how much anyone wish to discount this. Jenny went in search search for her children.

Being an Atheist doesn't mean we have ALL the answers, our common ground is that we have non-belief in god or gods and a god doesn't have to exist for this to be possible?

The interviewers or professionals were consulted or called in because the parents did not have the answers.

I refused or disregarded any stories of reincarnation as a Hindu but started to read about it later.

We didn't believe in mermaids until evidence was shown.

I’m all ears. What evidence for mermaids has been shown?

@skado

I am trying to get hold of a documentary on our local Carte Blanche aired every Sundays evenings by Derek Watts but can't seem to find it. I'll certainly let you have once I get my hands on it.

@DangerDave my very first post mentioned reincarnation and aliens, that I would not dismiss others' experiences just because they weren't mine.
...and truth be told, no one commented 😬😅

Mermaids? Are you referring to the animal planet documentary that they admitted was a hoax?

@JimG no I'm not. See above my response to @skado. Thanks

@skado let's focus on the South African fossils found.

@TimeOutForMe
OK.
[africacheck.org]

@skado and to reiterate:

"And there’s no harm in repeating the fact that mermaids are mythical creatures."– Dancan Bwire (11/06/2019).

@JimG
I'm assuming you intended that to go to TimeOutForMe, but yeah.

@skado yes that looks fake, not the one I sent you.
South Africa is a country (out of over 50)on the continent of a Africa. We've had many (first) discoveries here which is unique throughout the world.
Will you also deny large lizards didn't have fish tails before? ...or try to look for write-ups to debunk that?

@skado the problem with Wikipedia is that almost anyone can edit the info on there.

The info is generally good, but if you want to quote it to someone else, I would suggest verifying that info with other sources.

@TimeOutForMe
The only thing you sent me (that I'm aware of) is a video clip from an entertainment program. I'm unable to find anything it mentions in reliable, scientific sources. The "prominent archeologist" Dr. Ross Margot is nowhere to be found on the internet, except in references to the hoax documentary. Do you have any references from anything other than popular entertainment? If this is real there would certainly be many references to it in scientific journals, and all over the internet.

@skado Yes, it appears there's no need to point that out to you.

@skado Thank you for your comments. I would really like to get to the bottom of this myself. I would have to try and see how I can get hold of any marine biologist from the Stellenbosch University in relation to this. I also cannot find anything on Ross Margot, perhaps because he said he was the archeologist and wanted to leave it up to the marine biologist? It is a national SABC News - TV channel and not an entertainment channel as such. I would have to run it past a few people this side and the minute I come up with something solid I will share it on here.

@skado here's another find of interest on the same national news channel.

Fish that were also thought to be prehistoric 66 million years ago are well and alive in South African waters and have been spotted on many occasions and photographed ie the Coelecanth.

@skado I FOUND ONE!!!!!!

@Redneckliberal ya ya 🤣🤣🤣 this is comic and children story colourful versions of what is not 😉

@TimeOutForMe
Same channel, different show. Expresso bills itself as a feel-good morning show.

@skado are you suggesting that this expresso/morning/breakfast feel-good show is a talk trash show? I think not.

@TimeOutForMe
I'm suggesting it is intended (by its own description) to be oriented more toward casual entertainment than their program labeled "News".

@TimeOutForMe The coelocanth was rediscovered in 1938. It is a bottom dwelling fish that was believed to have been extinct based on its disappearance from the fossil record. That's not the same, the coelocanth was a known creature that was believed to have died off. It was a known species before a living animal was captured.

asking the same question twice does not make it relevant

1

What evidence?

1

There is no evidence for reincarnation. None. Zip!

1

Theres no evidence...

Nice to see you, Bob.

1

To my knowledge there is no proof of reincarnation. And since it is the religious that make the claim that God or Gods exists then as Carl Sagan put it "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".

When I see evidence then I’ll believe it.

1

First, explain the process of reincarnation - how it works - and then we can discuss how "some kind of 'god'" may or may not fit into that process. My guess is that no process is known to explain reincarnation any more than we have a clear definition of God. If we accept a made up process, we can just as easily fit in or omit God from the process.

Please, show me the evidence of reincarnation . I don't believe it ,but I am open to see scientific evidence .
