I hope friends and members will forgive me if my postings.comments may sound a tad irritated, etc, today and if they do I most sincerely apologize.
But my reason is that yesterday, around 'Close of Business time' I received a phone call from the Law Firm that Evangelidiot intends to hire in his Law Suit re- being Banned from Constructing his Steam-Powered Generator system.that,
- Mr. Matthew Paine has listed me as a Character Witness on his behalf who WILL appear in Court when required,
- they WILL notify me of an appointment in the very near future to take my deposition regarding the case in hand,
- Mr. Paine has given HIS guarantee that I WILL pay for MY appointment with them and including any subsequent appointments as may be required.
I attempted to explain to "Messrs. Grabb, Swindell and Foxx' ( as they are locally called sarcastically btw) that I had informed Mr. Paine that,
A) I would NOT stand as a Character Witness in Court on his behalf ANY circumstances whatsoever,
B) As a well known and respected local Psychologist, semi-retired, I could ONLY ever give my Psychological Impression/diagnosis of the Mental and Emotional Stability of their Client, which, in my honest opinion, would scuttle any chances of his Law Suit succeeding.
Since in my educated opinion their Client is both Emotionally and Mentally unstable to say the very least and is in most definite and URGENT need of Psychiatric help,
C) in NO way, shape nor form did either intimate to their Client that I would financially or otherwise support him, his Claim nor for ANY Appointments regarding his Law Suit, etc, etc, AND, that I have, on DVD disc via my home security system, a record of my denial, etc, conversation with their Client as was held across the fence dividing our properties.
Atm, I'm battling the urge to go and give Mr. Paine a piece of my mind but the thought of looking such a blatant, rank, lying Scumbag in the face without a length of 4x2 timber with which to 'drive home' my responses, etc, is making me err on the side of cautiousness.

After reading your comments his lawyers will no doubt think better of calling you, unless, oh, i dunno,they are (as i mentioned earlier)simply planning on milking him for every dime he has. Oh, & If you are expected to testify as a expert, they have to pay you!

Yes, you are correct, that thought completely slipped my mind, as a Qualified Psychologist with a PhD to boot, the recompenses would need to in line with the qualifications would they not?
I guess I should do a bit of research and find out what the going rate for a practicing Psychologist is these days.
@Triphid around here around $600/hour plus lunch, even dinner, plus lodging & travel expenses! oh, also time/expenses involved in the necessary pre-trial depositions!
@AnneWimsey Hmm, well now, my normal non-want to make a fortune nature has taken a wee bit of 'hit' with this news.
$600 per hour plus meal/s, expenses, etc, etc, sounds a wee bit interesting, kind of like a bit of compensation for the shit, etc, Evangelidiot has dished out over the years.
Time for my mind to debate all the Pros and Cons with my conscience perhaps.

Your neighbour is several sandwiches short of a picnic and with your professional background you already realize this, try to be the Xstian that Paine in the Ass never can be. 
As for Dewey, Skroom and Howe - they will be back to chasing ambulances in no time so I wouldn't bother.

You mean " Grabb, Swindell and Foxx," they usually chase Police cars and Paddy wagons rather than ambulances.

Thanks friend, I've decided NOT to go and give Mr. Paine the old 4x2 'handshake' as I don't want to either ruin a perfect good piece of timber or risk being prosecuted for any violent behaviour by the local police.
Irritating, but been there and they can only make you appear if they subpoena you, no subpoena, no problem. I'm surprised that any law firm would waste their time.

As I said, locally we call the Firm " Grabb, Swindel and Foxx" so you can guess what their 'reputation' is like.
They can do their best and subpoena me BUT they will find me to be a somewhat 'hostile' witness and as for me paying them, they can go whistle for that as well.
