HOT or COLD, or somewhere in between maybe...
What kind of showers do you prefer?
I like taking very hot showers and always rinse with very cold.
There is plenty of info out there about the benifits of cold showers, and I prefer to do what one does in a spa, hot then cold, opens your pores, tightens the skin and makes ya feel alive!
I like warm water, not hot.
But cold water is better for your skin, and besides, that's all I get here in Thailand.
Typically, only "farang" -foreigners-insist on renting rooms with hot water, so I pay cheaper rent for the same quality rooms because I don't use AC or hot water, and besides, electricity is expensive here.
Hot and Cold its my nature to have extremes. Actually I like it hot in the winter and cold in the summer. But as you age things start to change, the skins elasticity isn't there anymore especially for a woman. When you rent a place you have to take what you can get as far as water is concerned. ..
I used to stand in a hot shower til the hot ran out. Then we got a tankless water heater, it was like heaven. Then I divorced, and left that house. Now, several years later I try to keep showers as fast as possible. I'm 60 and my skin dries out so quickly. I feel like I need a bath in lotion.
Sigh, getting older sucks, but not getting older is not a good option.
I used to enjoy pretty hot showers....until the day I woke up with an eczema that covered almost my entire back; it was hot and feverish. The dermatologist prescribed some meds but I ignored him and used coconut oil, Eczema gone in two days. Now, only warm showers.
My shower temp depends on the time of year; warmer in winter, cooler in summer. I always dry brush my skin first. Since I've been doing this (two years now), I never get that dry, scaley winter skin. My skin stays nice and smooth year round. I also use coconut oil to moisturize most days.
