If scientism was the descriptive noun of a state of being/emotion would it be a descriptive, permanent and overarching characteristic like "organism", or would it be temporary and contingent experience like "orgasm"? In other words "Would you be a scientism, or do you have a scientism?"

The roots are a little different than common usage nowadays. It has become an attempt by religious people to put their theistic beliefs on equal ground with science. But it was coined in philosophy for a different purpose.
