Standard Model of physics challenged by most precise measurement of W boson particle yet
"The analysis, which took 10 years to complete, measured the W boson at 80,433.5 megaelectronvolts, plus or minus 9.4. That is around 70 to 85 MeV higher than the Standard Model predicts."
So the prediction is off by 77/80433 or 0.1%. That suggests a change, maybe even a significant change. But the Standard Model will still be very much intact.
"The large discrepancy "really makes one's ears prick up" " OOOOhhhh-keyyyyyy.
