There are far more options currently than there was in the '60s & '70s. Also many feminists are practiced in the procedure in preparation for such an event as over turning Roe vs Wade. All of this afflicting our country is because people "Didn't like Hilary", and believed the polls. One's responsibility to vote is not a convenience, it is a right that folks died for & a requirement for a functioning democracy/republic. Complacency resulted in the debacle that made for an accidental president who lost by 3 million votes. We will bear the suffering that the election of 2016 has wrought. Not to mention the one in 2000. Now that was a stolen election when SCOTUS stopped the count.n The Heritage Society is in favor of retaining the Electoral College. Makes me think I should be opposed.

I don't know about herbals, but abortion pills (miffe and miso) are available by mail, have a good shelf life, and can be stockpiled in advance of need. aidaccess.org provides information about pills by mail for all 50 states, if not legal from a U.S. source in one's state, then available from overseas.

Before Roe v Wade, the Catholic Church was virtually the only organized anti-abortion mover in the U.S. (Doctors controlled who was able to - or not - get abortions before Roe. Some doctors were liberal with providing them and some were anti-abortion.)

In the 1960s, more Republicans supported the decriminalization of abortion than Democrats! (Because the Catholic faction was heavily Democratic.) Taking an anti-abortion position was a calculated move by Republicans, advocated first by Nixon's advisors, to split Catholics from the Democratic Party. Reagan capitalized on that strategy to the max.

Evangelicals and conservative Protestants were largely neutral, mute, or favorable toward Roe. Later, they were actively recruited to the anti-choice movement by Catholic hierarchy and Republican strategists.

I am not at all surprised to learn that abortion has been practiced throughout the ages. Women have always been up against difficulties in bearing and rearing children. An unplanned pregnancy at the wrong time might actually limit a family's chances of success or even survival. And knowledge of certain herbs was not uncommon.

Abortion issues are really control issues and abortion is not birth control. A person needs to let that sink in before they start talking Roe v. Wade and Supreme Court. Evangelicals think Jesus and their god would be anti-abortion but the bible says nothing about "fetal rights." When the baby drew it's first breath it became a person and not before that time. What religion has taught us all in our lifetimes is all made up. Right now control issues and anger issues has brought this all to the forefront again. Is anyone intelligent enough to stop this? Let them step forward.

I read part of the articale,not because of any christian beliefs, but becsuse you ask. I would never be an avocate for abortion...I do however, believe in a womans right to choose. My premise being that if someone, or government, has the right to tell you what you can't do with your body, then they have the power to tell you what have to do with your body..and barring harm to another, I don't think those rights can be taken.

Prohibiting abortion has usually always been favored by misogynists.
Women who are anti-abortion are traitors to their gender. I have no use for any of them.

All the more reason to get ALL religious influences OUT of public policy forever.
