Snowden is a Russian citizen now. I feel like the "government is watching you is a broadsweeping statement that makes one feel up against an entity. At the same time, in reality people have access to your private information. People do good or not depending on the moment and individual. This is why the invasion of privacy with really no grounds necessary or recourse we can take to protect ourselves is so frightening. I think many actually appreciate what Snowden did. What do you think?
If we had forgiven Snowden then 45's theft would not have been as serious so I'm happy we didn't. Snowden broke his contract, and our law, with his public service but had a good argument for doing so. It just isn't a legal argument. I'm sorry he's Russian but it makes sense. Now he must worry about being drafted (like a note).
