It is becoming increasing obvious that in the absence of the administrator of this site that it is only a matter of time before it crashes due to lack of maintenance.

@David1955 We swap to Facebook. We already have each other's details, and can rebuild contact if Facebook also falls over. She and I are far too important to each other to let a technology fail get in the way of our relationship.
@David1955 8,000 miles is a bit of an issue. Email doesn't cut it, somehow. Mastadon is a suggestion as you say, but like you I am in the "watch and wait" stage.
