Oh, I guess "Empirical Evidence" is christian speak for "The Bible".

Beliefs and facts are interchangeable to the deeply religious.

If only that was all we had to worry about.

Great post, got me thinking, I know that's dangerous, yet not as dangerous as following Gods.

Welcome to the absurdity of the God Mob! 🙂

Although via your words you appear to interpret this "Christian Memes and Puns" post inviting the atheist to "Consider changing my Atheist views?" with Empirical evidence. It appears you failed to recognize rather obvious comparison this Meme introduces.

To accurately evaluate the message illustrated in your graphic, let's examine each of the three examples:

Example 1: Vampire (FICTITIOUS character) trying to avoid Sunlight (thing that could kill the Vampire)
Example 2: Superman (FICTITIOUS character) trying to avoid Kryptonite (the thing that could kill him (real in the Superman universe))

I am guessing you are unaware just how nefarious many Christians depict Atheists so to quote Matt D.
"Let me put on my Christian hat" to spell out the third comparison:

Example 3: Atheist (FICTITIOUS character) tying to avoid empirical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ (The thing that could kill him)

Yea, It really is that bad.

I've encountered theists who assert Atheists are not real.

I've also encountered theists who assert nonsense including empirical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ is evident. This assertion is often asserted as absolute "TRUTH" I have encountered theists who assert "TRUTH" is evidence that Atheists must avoid as TRUTH will kill/or convert the Atheist.

I'm a scientist and if empirical evidence were ever presented to me that actually made sense that proved a creator god, then I would consider that. However, let's be honest and accept that the likelihood of such empirical evidence being presented is remote if not impossible because it's just ridiculous. Take your personal assumptions, revisit them and then comment again if you like.

@SnowyOwl It appears we agree there is no currently demonstrated empirical evidence to support a god assertion. However, as I pointed out, this is NOT an argument the meme (the image (not your misinterpreted intro you shared) addresses.

Your reply is a red herring. Apparently you continue to fail to understand how profoundly you misinterpreted the intent of the Christian post you shared.

Asserting your "prelude to these posts (that as I demonstrated does not fit into the context of the post) does NOT change the content of the Christian post.

How can you profoundly fail to understand the meme you post does NOT address your topic?

For example: If I preface a photo with "Seat belts save lives"
Then post a photograph of a car driven by a dog plunging into a lake would it be unreasonable to anticipate someone addressing my photo a dog driving a car was largely unrelated to seat belts?

To use your defense to defend my seat belt point "I'm a scientist" and "Does anyone read the prelude to these posts" is beyond lame. "Take your personal assumptions, revisit them and then comment again if your like."

@NoMagicCookie I found it funny and posted with that intent, I find that you make a lot of assumptions about what I meant to convey. If you're so bothered by a meme then just scroll on, find something else that you may think is amusing, maybe even pull the stick out of your ass and laugh a little.

This meme asserts or implies two FALSE premises. 1. That empirical evidence of Jesus' resurrection exists. 2. That all atheists would refuse to examine or accept such evidence if it did exist.

Does anyone read the prelude to these posts? The whole point is that until this ridiculous premise gets put forth as actual evidence then it is just another xstian inanity. Read, Think and only then - Comment.

@SnowyOwl Others were also confused by your post, but we must all be wrong...😂

@Flyingsaucesir I'm not sure SnowyOwl is capable of understanding sarcasm. For better clarity for those less then aware of context, I have found it necessary to include "SARCASM ALERT" For example: ". . . . Others were also confused by your post, "SARCASM ALERT" We must all be wrong.

You could include a 3rd inferred false premise. Atheists, like superman and vampires, are not real. Yes, I've encountered that argument from theists. Theists usually continue with, Everybody knows god is real. Atheists just hate god.

@NoMagicCookie You have yet to figure out that sarcasm seldom translates well in print. I figured that one out years ago. I usually use an emoji to make sure they get it, or make it very obvious in the way l state it.

@NoMagicCookie l am completely right. You are not nearly as smart as you like to think you are, which seems to be the consensus here.

@NoMagicCookie Damn, why didn't I think of that? 😂👍

@Sticks48

Edited:
After re-reading your first post I am guessing, although you failed to point out the smiley or laughing face in the post, your example of an emoji was to try to communicate the posted smiley face was a definitive means of indicating sarcasm on the earlier post.

OK. In that context you ARE correct. I did not find the smiley face sufficient evidence to conclusively dictate sarcasm for the post.

So I was wrong, for me an Emoji is NOT a substitution for "SARCASM ALERT".

I have never had a problem using "SARCASM ALERT" to identify sarcasm.

Your further "or make it very obvious in the way l state it." I have found ineffective as some people have cognitive difficulties understanding what they are reading even when it is clearly stated.

@NoMagicCookie l like sarcasm alert.Sometimes in print you have to hit them over the head with it. I have found the people here who know me well understand when l am being sarcastic when l don't point it out. Others may not.

@NoMagicCookie

King James Bible mention hate 86 times. I'm more cautious when Christians tell me, God loves you. God sends most of us to hell, because he loves you.

But there IS empirical evidence in evolution that directly contradicts the dogma of Christianity needing a created Adam. With Adam being fictional, there's no need for the mythical Jesus.

How much horse-shit will they eat before vomiting it all up? Epiphany must have a formula!!!

4

The evidence is in the book making the claim. After all, the book said there was an empty tomb and the stone had been rolled away. Did they see a gardener or just have the wrong tomb? Who knows?

Most likely wrong translations.

2

Yes, when something is supposed to be returning for more than two thousand years, one sure does loose interest and faith that it never readily existed in the first place!!!

6

Your meme is stupid creationist propaganda.
I can see the sun, but beyond that everything in the meme is fictional and the dietary equivalent of LSD.

I think you may have missed my point - There is no empirical evidence for the resurrection of christ and I will go out on a limb and state no empirical evidence that the Jesus that xstians are so deeply committed to, ever existed at all. Yes the source is a very stupid xstian source and that's what makes it so tragically funny. All humour is founded in tragedy and fear.
Please read, think and only then, comment. Sorry, but I just expect more from some people on this site and you are one of them.

@SnowyOwl when I post something stupid I make a point of denouncing it. Memes like this with no serious denouncement sends mixed messages. I read everything every time and your post is, well stupid. So don’t try to mansplain your way out of it.

@Willow_Wisp there is nothing about sexual orientation in my post - I clearly state that I won't be changing my Atheist views until the claimed empirical evidence shows up, which will be fucking never. Still, I will allow the extremely remote possibility of this second coming happening but all things considered I would rather go into the fiery pit than accept such a horrible dominion.

@SnowyOwl I said nothing about sexual orientation either so take your own advice and read the post.

@Willow_Wisp I wrote the post, I know what it says. Did you read my comment that proceeds the meme?

that is so NOT what the meme is about...reread/rethink!

@SnowyOwl @Willow_Wisp is right; you sent a mixed message.

"Empirical evidence" is a laugh. Turds they pull out their asses maybe.

I love it when xstians quote their bible as empirical proof, it's like quoting the Lord of the Rings as proof of orcs and hobbits.

Hey, new pic! i like!
