I took my Little Girl (cat) In for her shots today and discovered she had been chipped. She was a stray I rescued 2 yrs ago and never thought to have her checked before. The vets office left phone messages at the contact numbers. After I got home the original owner called them and they called me. I called her original owner we were both bawling on the phone. They came and got her. Very nice people. Couldn't thank me enough for taking care of her. We exchanged the history we each had with her and says she wants to keep in touch.

They've taken her and I didn't expect it to be so hard. 😭

I'm so sorry for your loss, but what a big heart you have to give up your baby!

Thanks, I'm struggling.

That is so heartbreaking. At least she has a lot of people who love her.

Yes.

Oh, I'm so sorry! What a beautiful kitty. I hope they keep their word and do keep in touch. What a hard thing to have to do!

Yes, harder than I thought.

Oh, I’m so very sorry!
My cat went missing a few years ago and I always hoped that someone had taken her in and would eventually notice her chip.
Losing a pet is heartbreaking. You have my sympathies.

That's hard. Two years is long enough to get really attached. I hope you will feel able to rescue another cat to fill the gap eventually.

Thanks.

I'm so sorry, dear. The only consolation is that you know she's going to a good home. Big Hugs!

Thanks.

I know what you did is right for the folks who lost their kitty. But now you've lost your kitty?

It breaks my heart for you. It truly does.

I hope you get visits. (((((BeeHappy))))))

Thanks, I think I will. She's already friended me on FB and sent me a pic.

@BeeHappy Aunty Bee! Did they reimburse you the vet fees and two years board and lodging?

@FrayedBear best they could.

You wouldn't be such a nice person if you weren't upset.

Thanks Leigh

@BeeHappy your welcome and it's simply the truth.

Doing the right thing takes a lot of courage. Our pets become members of our family and it's heartbreaking to say goodbye. I'm so sorry you had to go through this and I hope you will consider rescuing another cat, there are so many that need a good and loving home. You have the heart and I hope in time you have the will. Take care.

I understand.

That’s very sad for you and happy for them. I might just have something that would cheer you up... ?

Thanks, not ready yet.

@BeeHappy I know. Bad timing on my part. There is no replacement for loved ones lost.

Dude.

That was HEROIC of you, I cannot imagine how hard it would be to give up any of 'my babies' (we have had 6 so far, one left currently at age 20 and still healthy and happy)...very sad yet also uplifting post...
.

Thank you so much.

That’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry you had to go through this...and so quickly and unexpectedly. You must be all over the place with emotions right now.
You did a beautiful thing in both taking in the stray, providing a loving home and care, and then releasing her to the original owners. Your heart is good I hope it heals quickly.

Thank you.

That hurts and feels good at the same time.

Yes.
