You could not pay me enough to live in that state. I feel very sorry for the poor residents who have no options to move somewhere better.

There is a part of Mississippi that is on a UN list for dangerous drinking water - sewage in the water. On a UN list along with multiple places from other nations that certain political folks call shit holes.
If SCROTUS votes on a new case they're starting this coming year, there is a good chance places like that will grow in the US as they already ruled against EPA enforcement of CO2 and this next case could take away even more environmental and safety enforcement powers from government agencies - more dirty water, more smog, more dangerous food, more dangerous work environments, etc.

@Beowulfsfriend The damage is already visable here in eastern WA. Since trump gutted some EPA restrictions the levels of ground level ozone have steadily gone up around the I-90 corridor from Cle Elum to Ellensburg.
I had seen a report a few years ago about the dangerous drinking water and how the poor areas are not getting funding to be hooked up county sewer systems.

I don’t remember it but also don’t care. For one thing they were in Mississippi.

You might care if this coming year the Supreme Court rules against most regulatory agencies and your food, water, and air, and working conditions start to deteriorate afterwards, which they will if as in last years ruling that now has coal plants CO2 emissions running unchecked.

@Beowulfsfriend Yeah. That's gonna suck, alright. Part of my attitude (it occurs to me) is a result of fatalistic outlook for our species. Add to that my recent conviction that this illusion ends when I "die" and I no longer care about much. We will be or not be but I will likely not know the answer to that.
