Wine lovers??? Its Friday, YAY and it was an exceptionally rough week for me at work. So I dusted off a wine glass my son gifted me a few Christmas's ago. Up to the WTF line it holds approximately 1/2 a bottle. Currently holding a nice berry fruity Merlot. I'm a red gal. I want to hear from other wine lovers. What is your favorite? Do you have a favorite glass? Spill it!
The wine currently in the house gives me a headache, did some research and found it was not vegan... I’ll go to Trader Joe’s Monday and get some vegan wine, where can o get a WTF glass? I had a scotch last night while we sat around singing and playing guitar. Some of the songs I was playing we’re so old I almost went and made a gimlet.
@Stargazer13 You are a genius ?
Cabs, Pinot noir, Merlot, Burgundy, nothing cheap. White; pinot grigio, Chards, Blancs,Champaign some cheapos are okay with food.
I like all the fancy glasses too, but usually, I am using bistro glasses.
Good food, good wine, good lover, that's what my dreams are made of.... Just a little bit of heaven in a world full of Hell!
@Stargazer13 By all means please do. Delicious is all that matters. I thought I knew about wine until my buddy (arbitrage' who struck it rich bought out the entire store just for fun of it and shared the nuggets with me. Those fine wines were fine, and inspirational. I'll always be grateful to him for that experience.
I have a wine glass that holds an entire bottle. I never drink less than that when I open one anyway.
I am not a sophisticated wine drinker. Give me sweet and cheap and I’m happy. White please. Moscato, Riesling all day.
@Stargazer13 you can get the glass at Total Wine & More.
"My doctor said limit my wine intake to one glass a day."
Sauvignon Blanc-there is a few Chilean ones.
Chilean wines are the best!! I’m currently sipping on a Chilean red moscato
I currently drink a glass of low priced Pinot Noir every day. I've spent years drinking drinking dry reds on a daily basis. Before I retired my job was as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a large manufacturer. I traveled weekly and had many customers who liked wine. I guess my palate is not that sensitive because I've drunk some of the most expensive and well rated wines all over the US and also had many wines from South America while in Mexico. I never practiced the wine lingo or pretended to like a wine, (unless it was a favorite of a customer, of course).
I love spicy, peppery, or jammy Zins, and some others. Also enjoy some whites (not Chard). I have a nice, big 7 Deadly Zins glass from Michael & David winery, but also have a couple of long-stemmed, hand-painted glasses. Super tacky Hawaiian themed ones.
I drink low end Pinot Grigio everyday, but I base a lot on the venue and the meal. A nice big Zinfandel with a steak, a dry Chianti with a bolgenese, a true rose with a pizza, but a Sauvignon Blanc with shrimp. See? ? I want to try a Gewurtztraminer paired with a goat curry.
@Stargazer13 I've got a restaurant that makes it. I've never tried to buy goat, and I don't have a recipe. I may need to be more proactive. And I have no idea how to come up with garlic naan on my own. But a crisp Gewurtztraminer, a drier one, would hit the spot in a meal like this.
Oooh, nice wine glass....
I like the reds most of the time, but sometimes in the summer I'll go white.
I like most, but I am drawn to pinot noir and red blends.
I just saw something on FB, where this winery in South Africa is using ducks in their vineyards to get rid of pest instead of insecticides..
I thought that was pretty cool.
I enjoy the grape juice very much and am constantly searching for others to share the experience of tasting!
I'm not a wine person but I found a good grape Sangria soda. Where do I find a good grape Sangria wine?
@Stargazer13 Now it's end of the month and I've discovered Real Sangria which is made in Spain. Very good and about $8.66 for a 1.5 liter bottle. Tonight I also bought a white Sangria wine. Maybe I can try it over the weekend.
I've been told I should aquire a taste for dry wine. I like sweet red, maybe St. James.
I had a challenging week as well and drinks are in order to wind down.... sorry, beer does it for me....
@Stargazer13 thanks, I had a nice night sleep so I am back in the game !!!!! thanks again and have a pleasant Saturday !!!
I have never had any interest in drinking wine or any other form of alcohol. My parents always taught me that alcohol is evil and can lead to a lot of problems in life. When I turned 21 and could legally drink, I still had no desire to try alcohol. However, I was curious about alternative drinks and started doing research. That's when I discovered Kava. I found a local Kava bars near me and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. I ordered my first Kava drink, and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. It had a unique taste and was quite soothing, without any of the negative effects of alcohol.
I drink wine every day, one glass at a time. Wine helps me relax and feel better.
Life is better unhindered by strong drink.
@Stargazer13 Peace indeed
