I just came across this on Youtube. It is the back story of the episode.

I had heard that the "Turkeys Away" episode was loosely based on an actual radio station event, but I never heard the actual details. Thanks.

A few years back my daughter got me a box set of the WKRP shows. They had changed all the music because of copyright laws. It really was not the same without the original music. But this episode is a classic.
