An underground Ukrainian group has hit Russia deep inside its borders. [dw.com] A month ago I had a visitor who was born and bred in Moscow during the Soviet era. He was able to move to the Netherlands and now lives in Berkeley. His family still lives in Russia and he told me most Russians know what is going on but feel powerless to even speak about it. Yesterday, I spoke with a neighbor who lived in Russia, speaks the language and had a long term GF, Tatyana. He told me of this event and said Putin is desperate for new fighters and is trying to enlist Siberians. He said you don’t mess with Siberians and they will not tolerate this. He also mentioned Mongolia. He said Mongolia is in a tough situation and they are taking steps to protect themselves. [thediplomat.com]. More proof of how widespread this war could be unless we can rid the world of Putin.

Just about everyone who has left Russia has nothing nice to say about Putin. All but a few countries that share a border with Russia feel very safe. Since Putin invaded Ukraine Finland has beefed up it's border wall with Russia. The Finns have a long history with Russian bullshit.

From what I was told the Siberians also do not like Putin and don't want to have their young people dragged into this losing war. We need to remember, Russia is the biggest country in the world.

At least they are taking the fight to inside Russia. Fair game if you ask me. When everyday Russians are reminded they are at war, maybe they will step up and start demanding an end to it.
