How many here are pro HAMAS ?? [wbur.org]
Please also post "How many here are pro IDF occupation of Palestine??"
I have to say that overall, I am pro any resistance to occupation so yes, pro Hamas's fight against occupation. Innocents who get killed anywhere, anytime need condemnation. Doubly so if a state military does it.
Some facts;
Hamas would not exist if not for the occupation of Palestine.
Hamas would not be the political power it is without Netanyahu and his Likud party funding and supporting it.
Those kibbutz's and settlement attacked were illegal and on stolen land. Zero innocence those who resided there. Any current IDF members, zero innocence. These were the majority of the deaths. Occupiers of stolen land so zero sympathy. They were fully aware of how these settlements formed.
MANY civilians were killed by the IDF also that day. All the burnt out cars are being cut up and buried now. Burnt out via missiles and tank shells, not Hamas. Israel is destroying evidence. Be good to see autopsy results to see what size rounds killed people eg 7.62mm A-47's or 5.56mm M-16 types................see whose bullets they were. That info will not be released.
You have the right to resist occupation of your country
Occupiers cannot claim self defense regarding any occupation as a right.
The fact is Israel has created an apartheid system regarding Palestinians who are treated as lesser beings. They break women's and children's hands (seen in prisoner releases, thousand's of Palestinians seized at gunpoint and held without trial aka hostages also). Resistance forms in occupation and shit like Oct 7th happens. 250 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed this year prior to Oct 7th at the hands of settlers (read colonialists) and the IDF.
Hamas has already won this war, there will be a Palestine. Israel have exposed what kind of society their Zionist culture is and have lost much standing in the world. They have lost and Netanyahu will be tried for crimes against humanity. 20,000 now, 8000 of them children.
Those pro what Israel is doing, I would ask; "How many Palestinian's must die before your revenge is sated?"
English called Paul Revere and Ghandi a terrorist. Got their countries independence from occupiers
South Africa called Nelson Mandella a terrorist. Got his country free from occupier imposed apartheid.
IRA..............about occupation as well. So for me it is easy to blame "terrorist" acts of violence" to appear humane and all that feel good stuff, but it seems occupation is what causes these things to happen. So I will always blame occupiers as the root cause.
Israel is attempting to eradicate a whole people and their culture in order to control their land, simple colonizing that is. Same what happened Australian Aboriginals and American Indian nations. Thought the world was over that shit. Apparently not, well, most of the world is...................... except other colonizers and their lacky's.
Many Jews are against what Israel does in their name. These are brave people I admire as it takes courage to stand against many of your people for what you think is right.
So many people have no principals now and just "go with the flow" with zero thought. Example: Many proclaim to support bodily autonomy (for abortion) but are all for removing it for covid vax's. You either support bodily autonomy for medical treatment or not, can't have it both ways according to how YOU feel.
It's the same occupation eg How many support Ukraine resisting Russian occupation but not Palestinians resisting Israeli occupation? Can't have it both ways same yet claim to be acting on "principal".
Very true, though I wish I was as optimistic about the outcome.
What kind of question even is that insinuation-wise? Do we get prerequisite loyalty oaths next?
How many here are pro-Bibi? In case you think in binary, being against Netanyahu and the Israeli far right is NOT a pro-Hamas position. Obviously.
IDK, perhaps some are pro-Palestine, but pro-Hamas!?... I don't think we have anyone here. these words are not equal. Even a huge percent of Palestinians are Not pro-Hamas!
I doubt there’s much good faith on either side for a legitimate two state solution at this point. Ariel Sharon quit Gaza shrewdly to freeze out alternatives for a peace process and sidestep the quickly growing Palestinian demographic problem. Some make this out to be a good will gesture on the part of Israel. Hamas ascended in Gaza which sealed their fate. Palestinians then became split between two factions in Gaza and the West Bank. That’s convenient.
Sharon formed a moderate party as an alternative to Likud then stroked out so who knows where he would have wound up pushing things in the long term. His nemesis Netanyahu is even worse as a self-serving POS.
Don’t think there’s much trust for Abbas or the PA plus the Israeli right wing and their settler pals covet their West Bank. Many Israelis despise the apt Occupied label but cannot outright annex it without the resulting demography problem making an unworkable sham out of Israeli democracy in tension with its Jewish majoritarian character. Quite the pickle.
I shudder at what the endgame in Gaza might wind up as. I guess we’re not supposed to care much or at all about Gazan Palestinians lest we are suspected of sympathies with rapist murdering thugs if I get the gist of the OP correctly.
@Scott321 Honestly, from the political perspective, it's not my circus and not my monkey. But have to mention this; American officials and the whole world have correctly concluded and said that “Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people.”
The only thing I know is this shit show has to end, one way or another! radical muslims are like a cancer, growing fast and that situation is a perfect trigger for them. look at Europe and even the USA!
I’m sure as hell not. I think Hamas and Hezbollah need to be eradicated and we should support regime change in Iran. The Houthi’s rebels in Yemen need to be destroyed as well.
Depends what you mean by support. The regime change enacted in Iran previously by Britain and the US gave rise to the mistrust and resentment still alive today. The regime change enacted against Iraq against Husayn and subsequent de-Baathification led to the chaos in years to come where insurgents and former military went on to form ISIS. So good luck with that.
You can eradicate and destroy current networks but you can’t eliminate the backgrounding jihadi worldview. You might instead create the conditions and reactance for more of the same in coming generations.
