Two weekends ago my 28 yr old daughter Sarah married the nicest guy any father could hope for. It’s an interesting experience to reflect on the my daughter being born in May (she’ll be 29 in a few weeks) and now she’s a married woman. Where did the years go?

I’m a happy, contented guy. At 63 (where did the years go) I know that life is good. I’ve hit a few speed bumps, thought I was on the trail only to discover I was, not lost but a might bewildered a few times, found a way out of the woods and getting back on the trail, grappled with a few existential questions, and now live in gratitude and mindfulness.

Life is good.

You sound suspiciously spiritual but you can definitely get away with it when your daughter gets married! :~) Congratulations to you in brining up a daughter who makes good choices and makes her family proud and happy!

It's great to see your kids lives improve. Every milestone is meaningful. I know as a father I am always hoping for the best for my adult children.

You blink and they’re all grown up. They are a lovely couple. I wish for them a lifetime of happiness.

I have three daughters close to her age. It is sooo awesome to see our kids move forward in their lives and know we did a damn good job. The best part is yet to come. I now have two grand children. Yes, despite the bumps in the road and some course corrections, life is good.

Congratulations! I have been watching my children grow up too - finishing college, starting relationships. Sometimes it feels a little difficult but it's also a good feeling

Outstanding. And now you can look forward to holding your grandchild. Not that I want to make you feel old 🙂

Beautiful! Congratulations!

Good thing there are normal people in the world who want to get married.

Both my kids are both androgyne (mixed gender) and very high IQ, and neither of them are interested in getting married, or having kids, although they have various significant others from time to time.

I'm also androgyne, and a partial transmale. I was never interested in getting married, OR having kids, but bowed to parental pressure, back when I was young and religious.
