I would Prefer targeted ads (and indeed have chosen them when offered) as they Might be less of an annoyance & time-waster, show me something I might want, could actually lead to something better in my life.
Your illusion that it is something you can avoid isn't realistic!

. . . I NEVER see adds from websites, no smartphone, no cable TV (bill boards can't know whether I have looked) πŸ™‚

I don't think Apple actually cares about your privacy.
What they care about is maintaining a competitive advantage in software and services when revenues from hardware are beginning to plateau. πŸ˜›
