Apparently, the Russians are attacking several nuclear reactors in Ukraine. This is stupid as if the radiation leaks Russia will be affected. The winds blow East, Russia would become radioactive.

That didn’t happen when Trump was in office

Trump was the perfect president, do nothing for the people, only for the 1% of the 1%. Only pass legislation if you can get at least ten percent of the action. Allow foreign policy to just disappear as trump and his cronies will have control of everything and war will no longer be necessary for acquiring land and resources.

Perhaps the objective is to cut off their power?

If the idea is to turn off power then Russia will not have access to it. I do not care f they turn it off, I just do not want a band of radiation traveling the globe.

@dalefvictor The Russians didn't exactly distinguish themselves as nuclear competent with Chernobyl. Nuclear reactors are tricky.

Turning off the power could easily be accomplished by attacking the transmission lines rather than the reactor(s). 😛

@FearlessFly OK. How about this: Using the reactor as a military target evokes fear (for propaganda) and hopefully leveraging compliance?

@racocn8 [en.wikipedia.org]

"Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba warned that, if the plant were to explode, the fallout could be 10 times larger than the Chernobyl disaster"

@FearlessFly The amount of fallout depends on what happens to the core. Chernobyl mostly leaked as a result of small explosions. If the core suffers a meltdown, more concentrated vapor could be released. If the reactor somehow explodes, more material becomes airborne. Now if the core is vaporized, as from a small nuke, that lofts the whole pile into the air, and that can create a strip of radioactive sterility thousands of miles long.
