Florida has also forced textbook publishers to edit out any mention of race. How fucked up is this?

Banning anything only makes the banned items more popular. Go ahead with this strategy.

So are the censored books just the ones used in Florida or nation-wide? I would suspect and hope the former.

Whitewashing. It's how we almost forgot about Tulsa 1921.

In Tulsa's streets, the tension grew,
As white and black clashed in a feud,
A tinderbox of hate and fear,
Ignited by a single smear.

The year was 1921,
And Tulsa's Black Wall Street had begun,
A thriving center of black-owned trade,
But white supremacy had plans to raid.

A young black man was falsely accused,
Of a crime that left white men confused,
And though the charges were never proved,
The white mob's fury could not be soothed.

They swarmed the streets with guns and fire,
A violent rage they could not retire,
They burned and looted with reckless abandon,
And left behind a city in shambles and famine.

The black community fought to defend,
Their homes and businesses until the bitter end,
But the overwhelming force was too great,
And they suffered a tragic and brutal fate.

The aftermath was a scar on Tulsa's soul,
A history of hate and intolerance that took its toll,
But the story of Black Wall Street still remains,
A testament to the resilience that forever sustains.

Let us remember the Tulsa race war,
And the lives lost in the struggle for more,
May we learn from the past, and strive for peace,
So that hate and violence forever cease.

@Willow_Wisp Asked any German school children, they are taught about the Third Reich and the Holocaust. It's important to know your nation's history whether good or bad, because...it happened and should never be repeated. It won't happen again in Germany. It could happen here.
