Considering the current redistribution of the wealth of the middle class going on isn't it time for a tax on the billionaires to help the 80% of the population earning less than 100 dollars a year ? to finally have their lives improve with proper housing, food and medication ? Considering the horrors commited in the past by socialist/communist gov'ts is hoping for some utopian happy ending futile ? I think it is sadly !!

@Musicmanmike Well, everything can be hijacked. Politicians get elected on something they say the will do or not and when in power that's it they no longer do what they promised. I have live in three different countries, communist, social democratic and now right wing and I can tell you that the social democratic one is the one that is best for everyone, even the rich.
The mere existence of billionaires is a threat to human civilization. They are like 100-foot-tall giants that destroy civilization with every step they take. They hold so much power, and so LITTLE responsibility, that they are making our planet unliveable for everyone.

There have been "windfall profits taxes" in the past. Nixon put one on US oil producers during the embargo and raging oil prices.
It's time for a one on people making over $250,000 a year. No one needs more than that to live on. Tax income over 250k at 80%
